Is there an anticipated opening date for Pixar Pier?

I couldn't see the question asked on here already so thought I would ask. We are going May 11-15th and I was wondering if it would be complete?

I would not expect it to be complete by mid-May. Memorial Day weekend would be more likely. But all they are going to commit to at this point is "Summer."

I agree with disneychrista. They've been using Memorial Day weekend as the kick-off to the summer season these last few years, so I don't think Pixar Pier will be open until Memorial Day weekend at the earliest.

Hmmm.... interesting. If it is true there should be a blog post coming out soon. Still strange that a CM would email someone with a firm date without an official announcement.

From what I can see ToT closed in early January and Guardians opened in late May, with the opening date announcement coming in mid-February. I think it's the closest comparison we can make since it was a re-theme of an existing ride which required some new tech but no major construction. I'm not sure how involved it will be installing those new tunnels though, so it might take a bit longer. I think mid-May is unlikely. Even if they finish by then they would probably use that time for touch ups and press previews, and then formally open Memorial Day weekend. That June date actually seems realistic, but I doubt it's a firm date - maybe it's an internal working date, subject to change if they run into complications when they start work.

Based on how Guardians played out, I'm hoping for an announcement next month.

Well, we're booked for our girls' trip for 6/28-7/2 (which we postponed from March BECAUSE of the Paradise Pier closure), so I certainly hope it's open by then!
