Is there an age requirement for attractions?

I've done WDW with a 3yo before, but this summer we will have our 16 mos old son with us. I remember seeing (I can't remember where - don't think it was an "official" site) that the Safari had a minimum age requirement of 3. I can't imagine why unless, due to the jouncing about, there is a safety concern for having a toddler in your lap. Is this true? Are there any other attractions that have an age requirement besides the obvious ones with height restrictions?

Mike, I'm happy to tell you that there is NO age limit on the Kilo. Safari ride. My DD was 14 mths the first time she went on it. And loved it. I don't believe there are age limites on any rides in WDW just height limits. She joined us on every ride that didn't have a height requirment. Hope this helps.

Yes that does help. Thank you very much! I just remember where I got the info. The 2003 Passporter lists the attraction as appropriate for 4 and up, but this is only a guideline not a rule. Thanks again for the reply!

At MGM, for the Backlot Tour, "Guests must be at least 3 years old" although I'm not sure how much that is enforced.

If there is an age limit on the Backlot Tour, it isn't enforced because my son's been going on it since he was 6 mo. old.

There ARE some attractions that don't have age limits, but you'll want to use good judgement when considering them. You'll see a warning about thier intensity outside the attraction (ex: Tough to Be A Bug; Alien Encounter).

I don't think that there is an age requirment on the backlot tours. It is one of our favorite rides. Our DD was 14mths the first time we went and rode it several times and the last time we went she was 2 and rode it several times. I know they ask that all children be seated in the middle.
