I really would like to avoid using the expressway. Can someone help with directions on how to do this? If you use any directional assistance it wants you to use the highway.

Easy. Leaving DS turn right onto Buena Vista Drive. Stay on that road until you get to All Star :car:

What does gate access required mean? That's what Mapquest says you need.

Just that there is a gate when you enter All Stars. There's a guard there. If you are stay there, your magic band will open the gate if you go through that lane. Otherwise just pull up to the guard and explain why you are there and show a photo ID.

I appreciate your help, but the mapquest directions say this happens 5-1/2 miles away from AllStar. That's why I came here to ask. I guess I'll just have to see when we get there.

Thanks.

I don't know about MapQuest; I couldn't even get it to find All-Stars.

Use Google Maps; it's much more reliable. After you find All-Star Sports, click on the directions icon. Instead of Disney Springs, try entering La Nouba as a starting point. Under the start and end points box, there's an options button; click this, and then you can select Avoid Highways.

As OKW Lover said, all you have to do is get headed west on Buena Vista Dr., which is the main street that runs in front of DS. If you're in the surface lots on the same side of the street as DS, just turn right when you exit. If you're in one of the garages, make sure you follow the signs to an exit towards "Theme Parks" or "All Guest Areas"; do not exit towards "Hotel Plaza Blvd." or "SR-535". Once you're headed west on BVD, continue straight all the way to the end, passing CBR, DHS, BW, Coronado Springs, and Blizzard Beach. The street ends at the All-Stars gate.

BTW, expect lots of traffic and lots of buses on BVD. It is the main east-west arterial, with lots of traffic lights. Avoid the right lane after passing DHS & BW, as it soon becomes a right-turn lane over World Dr.

I think the total distance from Disney Springs to All Stars IS LESS than 5- 1/2 miles & about 10 min drive

Follow instructions given by joelkfla & others

I just spent a lot of time driving on BVD. Everyone is correct...it's a straight shot from DS to the AllStars. There are no gates, not sure what Mapquest is showing.

Ok...I just did a Mapquest search for myself. It does mention gate access required, but that's at Disney Springs. They may mean when leaving the garage...who knows. But, it's not going to be an issue. It's an 8 min drive, according to MQ, which is about right.
I wouldn't worry about gate access....those of us that have driven this route, a lot, have never run into it. But, as others have mentioned, stay in the middle lane..once you get to the DHS area, going past the S/D, the right lane turns into an on ramp for World Dr. The left two lanes continue on Buena Vista Dr.
