Is there a thread that explains how ebates works?

I'm not new to Disney, but I just read about ebates and Orbitz. But, I'm having trouble understanding how it works. Is there a thread that explains it? I can keep looking, but thought if there was already a thread out there, it would save me some time.

try the Dis Budget Board. Lots of people over there have used Ebates. You might have to go back a few pages to find it, but its here

It's really simple....you log in to Ebates and then link through to whatever website you wish to purchase from. Each participating company offers a different % rebate after you make the purchase. The travel sites like Orbitz break down the rebate based on what you have purchased...hotel or air etc. I think hotels get you 3.75%. Then later on you get the money from Orbitz either via Paypal or a cheque in the mail. They pay it out quarterly.


I just booked my WDW resort and earned $40 from Ebates.
