Is there a store or restaurant that you've been to while traveling...

We have 2 Waffle Houses in our town. One of my favorite places to eat. :)

Maggiano's- We ate at one in Atlanta and loved it.

Popeye's Fried Chicken! OMG, I fell in love with this place when I visited New Orleans back in 1984. Great spicy chicken and red beans and rice. Yummy biscuits too.

Waffle House isn't bad either. Perkins and Marie Calendar have wonderful pies but you can't buy them fresh here in Massachusetts.

Up in my area we are lacking The Olive Garden and Red Lobster too. I've never tried them but would like to. At least we finally got our own Krispy Kreme!

When I was little, one thing we loved about visiting relatives in MS was going to SONIC and KRYSTAL. It was so weird to move there and get to go to them when we weren't even on vacation. Silly kids.

I would love it if Sonic would come to Richmond. Several have popped up around Norfolk, but not here yet.

Richmond must be in some sort of "no small square hamburger chain" zone -- no Krystals or White Castles here. Given a choice of the two, I'd rather have Krystals, since I grew up with one in my hometown.

I have to admit, I miss Media Play -- movies, books, music, and computer software all under one roof. They had a few locations back in GA, but I haven't seen them here in VA. Are they still around?

I wish that we had a Margaritaville in our area. The food is good and I like the atmosphere even better.

I would also like to try this In and Out fast food place that I keep hearing about. I think that they're only located on the West coast?

Yep. Media Plays are still around, we have quite a few here. I like it there, but for me, Borders has it beat.:D

Commanders Palace... there's one in New Orleans and one in Vegas but none in Dallas :(

Waffle House and Cracker Barrel
Neither one is in Dade County so I have to go north to Broward to go to one.

As another Canadian stated, we miss so much here that you have in the US. Olive Garden (at least there is one in Buffalo so we can get our fix every once in a while), Cracker Barrel (none close, so we have to wait until we drive down to WDW to get our fix, which we do often), Country Buffet, Character Premier, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target (again, one in Buffalo that we can go to). At least we now have Red Lobster here in Canada, Krispy Kreme etc.

there's a mexcian buffet near six Flags over Texas and hopefully next month I'll intro DBf to the place:)

Bob Evans and White Castle ... I love Bob Evans and can't wait to hit Ketucky when headed north to the in laws. We even time our drive to WDW so we can have lunch on the one in Flordia that is about an hour south of the GA line.
They were suppose to start building White Castles around here, but I haven't seen one yet. I can't believe a fast food place has the best clam strips I've ever had.

Perkins restaurant- discovered them this yr while in Orlando!!
like Cracker barrel when traveling too but if I was in an area that had both Perkins and Cracker Barrel I would go for Perkins !!!

Pebbles restaurant - have eaten at the ones in Orlando at Cross roads and one of the other locations in the orlando area

Any FLorida Olive Garden-especially the one on Sand Lake Rd- they just don't seem to be as good up here in the NewEngland area

Oooh how could I forget as far as stores... I used to LOVE shopping at Ross (Dress for Less) when I'd come down to Orlando on vacation. Now I can go on my lunch break! :bounce:

Steak n Shake

Garden Ridge and JoAnn ETC stores
