On the upcoming PC I imagine we will purchase lots of souvenirs to bring home in luggage. We're flying home and want to check our luggage onboard the last night.

Never flown from a cruise before! Is there a way to weigh the pieces so we can see if we need to redistribute the goodies to stay under the weight limits?

Yes, there is! I have one that I travel with all the time. It's digital and works off batteries so very easy to take along. There are many different kinds but below is a link to the one I have.

We received one of these for Christmas last year and they are quite accurate. I figured +/- a couple of pounds accuracy, but for us, it came in identical to the scale at the Southwest Airlines luggage check at MCO! It enabled us to do shift items before we got to the airport as many of our bags were right at the 48 - 49 pound level!

Actually, when I posted I was thinking there might be a scale on the ship, but these answers are GREAT! I think we're going to get one of these....love it.

Do those weigh a lot? I have always thought that having one would just mean more weight in my suitcase. :confused3

I know that I can lift 50# in one hand, so that's how I judge mine.

Or find a friend in a suite and stand on their bathroom scale! ;)

Actually, they do have a scale you can use on the ship. It's kind of hard to get on the night before arrival, but just contact the front desk and ask for it to be brought to your room. We had to do this to distribute weight between bags too.

Mine feels about the same as a 12 oz. can of soda.
I love it and feel so lost without it. It can easily fit inside a shoe and I like knowing for sure that my bags are not overweight.

I liked it so much, I bought one for my mom and friend too.
