Is there a rule about being drunk in the park?

the gf and I are going during F&W time and we have both thought of this. We aren't big drinkers, so it doesn't take much for her to get drunk and she loves wine. I can handle my own so I"m not to worried about this. We figured we're spending 2 days at Epcot, if we happen to get a little too drunk one day it'd be ok. Do they do anything if you've drank too much or will they kind of look the other way as long as you're not being stupid?

FWIW, I"m not talking about getting wasted to where you can't walk straight, but more to the point where you're loud/laughing/talking a lot.

This sounds similar, my boyfriend and I aren't big drinkers either and while he can handle his alcohol well, it doesn't take much for me. And yes, I LOVE wine!
Now, I don't know the correct answer to your question but my guess is that so long as you are keeping to yourselves and not causing any trouble you won't be bothered.
That is, assuming you are of legal age.

I'm pretty sure if I get drunk everyone around us would have a memorable time. Maybe a little annoyed, but they'd go home with a few extra laughs.

DH and I shared most of our drinks when we drank around (most of) the world at EPCOT. This was largely to decrease the cost and keep us from getting too drunk to function. Lol! We were still pretty tipsy, so it definitely did the trick and we had no problems.

On the other hand we witnessed a SUPER drunk man having some major issues while we waited for our table at the Rose & Crown for dinner. It seemed that the bartender had decided he'd had enough, but the man didn't agree and despite reasoning from his friends he re-entered the pub and tried (unsuccessfully) to convince the bartender to serve him again. We got called in for our table while a cast member was speaking to him and his friends. Presumably before they left the park.

Moral of the story: As long as you're not obtrusive to the other guests and cast members and you pay attention to your limits, drinking can be a great way to add to your fun at the world!

PS, we also bought a passport and had the bartender/server at each location sign it and note what drinks we got. Most were very confused and tried to point us to where the kidcot stations were, but once we explained what we were doing they got really enthusiastic about it! And it made for a fun and unique souvenir! ^_^

Since you think you would be fine just keep an eye on her. AS long as she isn't getting to the point of obnoxious you'll be fine. Its Disney loud talking and laughing wont' be noticed. However I have also seen the so drunk he can barely walk straight guy ranting to everyone that will listen about how the stupid bartender cut him off, once you get to that point you will probably be asked to leave as the guy was making alot of people uncomfortable.

One word of caution that many ppl don't count on is the heat. When its hot out and you aren't drinking enough water and you need a lot, the alcohol will hit you much faster and harder. Even during f&w it can be quite warm to blistering hot so stay hydrated, eat good and be respectful of other guests and their families. No one wants to hear a drunk spouting off curse words at Disney. All that said, we enjoy trying the different adult beverages offered but never get drunk just a little buzzed as they say.

OP, as long as she's not really drunk, she'll be fine. I know my limits well, and while I've never been really drunk, I've been tipsy drunk at Epcot plenty of times. It's never been an issue.

I'm obnoxious even when I get tipsy, so I'd probably get into some trouble if I drank at the parks.

I'd imagine they base it on the behavior of the patron. They sell alcohol for a reason - so people can drink it.

There are many who drink excessively at Epcot's WS during Food and Wine. And I have to say it's the big reason I avoid that area on weekend nights!!! There just seems to be a higher percentage of ill behaved drunks in WS on the weekends!!!
And they aren't just tipsy...they are the 'puking in the bushes' drunk!! Not so much fun to be around. I have seen kids knocked over, people falling over their own feet, etc.
So, sure. Go and have a few drinks. Just be aware of your surroundings..and try not to negatively impact other guests.

Disney will without question remove you from the parks if your drunk to the point of being overly loud, not able to walk well or bothering other guests. This includes using the landscaping for a bathroom or bumping into people.

Last year I saw a Father toss a fool drunk over a low fence into the bushes when he bounced off his little daughter.....twice ans this after a warning from the father..........GOOD JOB DAD! Security in suits were there in 2 minutes as a small crowd formed and the fool was removed to the back stage areas fast.

Having a few drinks and happy should not be a problem.

I have been to F&W for every opening weekend since 2006 and have never seen this. Tipsy people having a good time? Sure. I have been one of them but excessively drunk and puking? Never.

Just be careful and use your head. Not only can you get in trouble with Disney and might be banned for life--you also can get arrested for "public drunk and disorderly" which might carry a jail sentence. I don't think you want that and drunk is drunk no matter what kind of stamp you put on it.

I have been to F&W for every opening weekend since 2006 and have never seen this. Tipsy people having a good time? Sure. I have been one of them but excessively drunk and puking? Never.

I've been three times....and on two different visits, have seen people using the bushes for various purposes!!! One guy actually stood there, beer in hand, relieving himself!!! Granted, it was dark where he was, but you could still see what he was doing!!! Found it amazing that he never put that beer down!!

Does it happen often? Nope, but it does happen. There are always going to be those people that are excessive. Maybe opening weekend is different..perhaps the locals avoid that first weekend..don't know. But I do know I have seen some really bad behaviour on other weekends.

You don't get banned from WDW for being a little bit drunk. You get banned from the park for being so drunk that you either become violent, belligerent or can't keep your clothes on (or all three.) There is more to your friends' story.

We once walked by a guy in the would showcase who was very drunk and shouting obscenities. Even his frat brothers were all "Dude, chill out. there are kids here." Seven hours later we walked by him again as we were leaving the park - he was peeing in the bushes.
