We like to rent movies from Redbox vending machines. Are there any near FW?:happytv:

Around my neck of the woods (West Central Florida), I have seen these contraptions at 7-11's (which I don't think you have in the Panhandle) and at Walgreen's.

There is a 7-11 and a Walgreen's about 4 to 5 miles away from the Fort. I don't know if either has a Red Box, but I would be one of them does.

But, I would be surprised if you have time to watch movies at the Fort.

FWIW, they have DVD's for rent at the Meadow Trading Post. I have never rented one, but they have a list of what's available at the cash register.

Per the Redbox.com website, there are quite a few located just outside of WDW. The closest looking ones to the Fort are:

Walgreens (Outside)
12100 S Apopka Vineland Rd
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32836-6801

7-Eleven (Outside)
12298 S Apopka Vineland Rd
Orlando, FL 32836-6803

7-Eleven (Outside)
8250 World Center Dr
Orlando, FL 32821-5400

We have Redboxes at all the Walmarts and also some gas stations like Circle K. I was hoping to rent the kids a movie for the drive (a little over 4 hours for us). Rent one here and return down there and vice versa. Maybe I can find their Orlando locations on their website. Thanks!

Edit - Thanks Dave! You guys are awesome!

OK, AnotherAlice, here is how you get to the aforementioned 7-11 and Walgreens.

This is the route to the Winn Dixie grocery store from the Fort.

The route begins on the left of this map at the exit from the Fort's overflow parking lot.

From there, you turn left on Vista Blvd.

Take Vista Blvd. until it dead ends into Winter Garden-Vineland Rd.

Turn right.

Take Winter Garden-Vineland Rd. until you get to Apoka-Vineland Rd.

The 7-11 is right at this intersection.

If you turn left here, that will take you to the Walgreen's, and the Winn Dixie is just a bit further.

Piece of cake:

To help you visualize further, here are some screen caps from the Orange County Property Appraiser's website.

You can see the 7-11 and other businesses (including a lot of restaurants) here:

Note where the Chili's is in the image above. Here another shot showing what is North of the Chili's:

The Winn Dixie is to the right of the ABC Liquor Store that you see toward the top right of the image above.

As you can see from the Google Earth Map, all of this is less than 5 miles from the Fort.

Going out of the WDW property this way avoids a lot of traffic.

But, it also dumps you out into the real world and shatters the image that you are far away from it all at the Fort.

If you go that way, there will be a sign that says authorized vehicles only, and there will be signs that will try to direct you to "all guest destinations" in a different direction, but don't worry, the Disney PoPo are not going to cart you off for going straight down that road. However, there are some speed bumps toward the end of that road past some Cast Member buildings, so go slow.

Aren't the vehicles of guests of Fort Wilderness Resort authorized vehicles?

Maybe that's why I keep ending up in places that I shouldn't.

I thought guests were "castmembers". And that our vehicles are "authorized." This Disney terminology is all so confusing.:confused3
