restaurant.... where the food and setting is awesome, yet they still have a kids menu? :teeth:

I would love to take my wife out to a great meal with a fabulous setting during our December trip. Thing is, we will still have the girls with us. And while we occasionally spurge on a great meal at home, I have no idea where to go at WDW.

How about Jiko? It's one of my favorites. It has a relaxed and slightly exotic atmosphere, the food is great, nice wine list, and they have a kids menu. Plus, you can take your girls to see the animals out on the observation trail after dinner as a reward for their good behavior! There's a guide out there with night vision goggles that he'll let your girls use to view the animals.

We love going to Citricos at the Grand Floridian. They are super-nice to our kids. And afterwards we go out to the boat dock to watch the fireworks.

I seriously think that Victoria and Albert's is the only place on Disney property without a children's menu.

:)

Yep. Tons.

Jiko's was the first place to come to mind for me as well.

And...shoot, I'm blanking on the name, but it's at the Grand Floridian, is not Park Fare or V&A's or Narcosees. The other one. Citricos? Anyway, that one was really good and we saw kids there.

My two favorites would be the California Grill because of the view or Artist Point because of the food. With your girls the view may be enough to keep them well entertained at California Grill and they do some very creative kids dishes. I believe both of them have kid desserts that involve them painting or decorating their own thing too.

California Grill, Citrico, Narcoossee's, Artist Point

Just an idea, would you feel comfortable putting your kids in a kids club during your dinner? You could do V&A's and put them in the club right in the Grand Floridian. They also have clubs in other hotels like, the Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jiko), Wilderness Lodge (Artists Point), etc.

We put the twins in the one at AKL when they were four. If they go during the dinner hour they'll be fed a kids food type dinner. I think it's $10/hour/child. So, a two hour dinner would cost $40 (I think there's a two hour minimum) for child care.

The kids had a blast, ate the same food we would have ordered for them at the restaurant, and we had a couple hours to ourselves.

I felt safer knowing that they were in the same building. They gave us a pager too.

and we've always had wonderful service too! Who says the French are rude? Not at WDW!

I'd also add Flying Fish, Blue Zoo, and Bistro de Paris.

I agree with Citricos, California Grill, Jiko, Narcoosee's, and Artist Point.

I have never heard of it... sounds like it is an AK? Sounds interesting!

I was unaware of this option, but would DEFINITELY consider it. They adapt well to this type of thing. Can we do this if we are staying offsite? We are at the Vistana.

Victoria and Albert's. Jackets are required, but they will provide one. (Hubby accidentally forgot his and I couldn't remind him b/c it was all a surprise). This is right up my alley for romance, so hubby when he wants to be romantic will plan for restaurants similar to this whenever possible. :)

Todd English Blue Zoo is a good place. It's either in the Swan or Dolphin, I forget which one. It's also not on the dining plan. Good atmosphere and good food. :thumbsup2

We actually preferred the Bistro upstairs. Much more intimate :).

(I'd recommend them as well--the rest of our meals have been family affairs).

Never mind--I misread your post and saw that you wanted a Kid's menu place. Scratch my recommendations. I'm sorry!

It's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The menu is posted on allearsnet if you want to look at what they offer. We've never had anything bad there. Good luck in your decision!

Nope. Maybe I can find a sitter! I would LOVE one night alone with my wife.

If you'd love a night out alone, I'll point out that the Dolphin offers FREE child care while you are dining at BlueZoo or Shulas!

There's also the kids clubs at AKL, Poly, GF...I think they are $10/hour/kid, and they'll feed your kids. You could also look into the Fairy Godmothers that will come to your room if you are staying onsite.

Here's some info. about the kids clubs.Kids clubs info

I'm pretty sure you can use them if you're staying offsite. Maybe someone else can confirm this. It might depend on availability.

Not a fan of Shulas, but sure will check out BlueZoo ( which I have no idea what that is! :teeth: )
