We are a family of four and will be coming to Disney in Nov. We are staying near Sea World for 2 days prior to Disney. We will have a rental car there. Is there a place in Disney to drop off the car and then be shuttled to our hotel(Coronado) instead of going back to the airport to drop our car off and then get shuttled back? Our TA said there is but you must rent through Alamo but I can't seem to find it anywhere on a map of the world. I think she called it the car care center.

The AAA Car Care Center is located just outside the Magic Kingdom entryway. They do have a shuttle to take you back to you hotel. The CCC has limited hours, I forget exactle when the close at night, maybe around 7 or 8? Alamo also has a desk at the Dolphin, you can leave the car there anytime, even after Alamo is closed. The valets take care of it.

Alamo and National both allow drop-offs at the Car Care Center (near the MK) and the Dolphin hotel. You may drop off anytime at the Dolphin and the valet will take your car and give you a receipt. From there you can walk/boat to the Studios and take the bus back to your resort.

Other car rental places have drop-off locations nearby. Search by locations for "Lake Buena Vista". I think that many of them have free shuttles to nearby resorts but it would be best to call them and ask.

Dollar Rental has a satellite office at the Regal Sun Resort(near DTD). We rented from them in April and they picked us up at AKL and brought us back after we returned the car.

I think you just have to note on your reservation that you will be returning the car there and not back to the airport.

All the major car rental companies have one or more drop-off locations at or near Walt Disney World. National/Alamo is on-site at the Car Care Center and WDW Dolphin. Other companies are at nearby hotels (on Hotel Plaza Blvd. or else just off-site) or dedicated facilities (usually just off WDW property, such as on Hwy. 192). Most provide free shuttle service to WDW hotels.

For example, Hertz has a Kissimmee-WDW location on Hwy. 192 near Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Just make sure your car rental reservation identifies the correct pick-up and drop-off locations. You'll find that coupons, promotional rates, or negotiated corporate rates sometimes don't apply when the pick-up and drop-off locations are different. The price difference can be large. Several times now, I saved enough money by renting and returning at MCO to make it worth doing so. I dropped my family and our bags at our WDW resort, returned the car to Hertz at the airport, and used Disney's Magical Express to get from MCO to our WDW resort. It probably added at least 90 minutes compared to dropping off at Hertz on Hwy. 192. But it was in the evening, and my family didn't have to go with me.

Also, be sure to pay attention to the hours of the car rental offices near WDW. Many close around 5:00 p.m.
