Is there a minimum nite stay at AKL?

When I was looking to pay cash, I was told that there was a minimum night stay of 3 nights. I was wondering if this was true if you use points, either at AKL or any of the other Disney resorts that are not DVC. Come to think of it, is it true for DVC resorts also?

Thanks.
Lisa

There is no minimum number of nights at DVC resorts. We have stayed one night beofre or after a cruise on a couple of occasions. I have never used points at the AKL (stayed on cash once) so I can't answer that question but am surprised they told you a three night minimum. Is it during a holiday period?

I've booked single nights lots of times... Who told you there was a 3 night minimum? That sounds like a package, not room only...

I don't think you were told exactly the truth.
The only thing close to this that I know about is that if you want to participate in Sunrise Safari/Sunset Safari you must stay at AKL concerige level, and that you must stay there for 3 nights (to prevent people from simply staying there one night to qualify for taking part in those events).

I think that may be the point of confusion here.

I have one night booked at AKL in October. No problems, except they wouldn't guarentee connecting rooms for just four of us, so we ended up in a Deluxe room for the square footage.

I stayed at AKL concierge on points in February of this year, I stayed just one night so I could do the Sunset safari. FWIW, I was upfront with my reasoning and had no trouble making the reservation.

I'd go back in a heartbeat! but for more than one night! It's addictive!

Some of the specials will have a minimum stay to qualify.

I keep thinking that I'd love to do the sunset safari soemtime by staying cc on points. Does anyone have more experience with teh 3-day minumum for that? It looks like we have conflicting reports here. TIA!

I am staying 2 nights conceirge at AKL in November and I plan on doing The sunrise and sunset safaris I had no idea it had to be for 3 nights can anyone verify this for me?I don't think it is right they make you stay 3 nights to go on a tour for one day as far as I am concerned that is really asking to much to go on a tour you are payng alot of money for and a conceirge level room you are spending alot of money on,can someone please clarify the minimun 3 night stay for me,I haven't seen that information anywhere else.
Thanks!!! :)

There is no minimum for stays at DVC resorts or at other Disney resorts using DVC points.

Cash reservations thru CRO can also be for as few as 1 night, but anything that Disney considers to be a package will have the 3 night minimum. Many of the codes used by Disney will insist on the 3 night package (even if park admissions and meals are NOT included). In some cases, stays in concierge rooms will have limited availability unless a package is reserved - thus the 3 night minimum.

If points are used to reserve thru MS, there will be no minimum stay and any programs offered to guests at that resort will also be available to DVC members staying on points including the safari.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the clarification Doc!

That makes sense for a package deal, but we were able to stay for just 1 night at AKL a couple years ago on an AP code.

We are staying on points at AKL concierge for two nights in August. We are doing both the sunrise and sunset safari. No one mentioned any minimum stay requirements and I know both of our safaris are already booked.

(anniversary trip with no kids :cool1: can't wait!)

::yes:: just last summer we spent one night at AKL, with AP code, no problem..

We stayed in January for 2 nights and did the Sunrise Safari, just call and ask to be sure, the concierge staff is very nice.
