DD (3) has been watching the Cruise DVD a lot lately and keeps telling us she wants to ride the Mickey slide. Is there a minimum height requirement for the slide?

I thought the height restriction was 36 inches and you had to be 4 years old to use it.

Ages 4 -14, 32" - 64" tall. My 3-year old (...ahem..., 4 year old) barely met the height minimum last June.

There were plenty of (ahem) four year olds on the slide to my eyes (if some of these kids were six days past three, it would be a wonder! However, no one was checking birth certificates at the top) - but it IS rather high and goes kind of fast. My four year old (really four and a half - 41" tall) took three days to work up the nerve to go down it - and she is the one who isn't shy about this sort of thing and had also worked up a lot of excitement about the Mickey Slide pre-trip - so maybe it won't even be an issue. Two flights of stairs up to the top kind of spooked her. They go down the slide all the time at our community pool into deep water, but there they go down in Mom's lap. (Once she went down she went down over and over and over and over......)

Do they land in deep water?? Are parents allowed to catch them at the bottom?? In other words, could a child that can't swim without swimmies use the slide if they met the other requirements??

Kellimomo3,
They land in ankle deep water. Actually, they don't even "splash" when they land, as the slide levels out for a while and they eventually just stop on their own and step out.

We have a problem with my 11 year old. He was so excited when he saw there was a slide on board. However he is from a tall family and is 67 inches now. We still have a year before we go and he will propably be taller. I have told him he won't be able to do the slide, but he is hoping someone will let him.

Oh, they splash pretty good - my daughter created an especially big spash (my son came down fairly splashless). My kids still talk about how they got all wet. But they do land in ankle deep water and no swimming is required.
