Is there a free PDF editing program somewhere?

I'm doing more freelance work & people keep sending me .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) contracts to fill out & then email back. Problem is, my free PDF / Adobe Reader program only lets me read the docs, copy from it, but NOT type in any info or make changes to the existing file.

I admit, I'm too cheap to buy the Adobe Acrobat program as I can also fax the filled in forms. Any FREE programs to fill out the forms so I can email them back? :cool1:

Adobe is highly proprietary about their software, so it's doubtful. I've never heard of one.

thats the thing with Adobe...you need to purchase to make changes...the free version is read only

There are freeware programs to create PDF's. Perhaps you could copy the info from the PDF to a Word file and the edit it, and then "print" the Word file to a PDF using the freeware program. (Try CutePDF).

Other ideas: Print the PDF, fill it out by hand, and scan back to a PDF (this is what I do with signed documents). Or print the PDF, scan to a photo file i.e. .jpg, and use a photo editor (not my first choice).

I have an older version of Adobe Acrobat (full, paid version), it's editing capabilities are somewhat limited (i.e. I can't enter random text).
