Is there a downside to purchasing DW tickets from visitorlando.com? (posting in Theme Park Strategies too)

I haven't bought Theme Park tickets for many moons (had an annual pass until we canceled it due to Covid). For a 5 day pass with parkhopper option it looks like we'll save ~$65 per ticket. It just doesn't seem right that the least expensive tickets wouldn't be straight from Disney, especially for DVC owners. Before I pull the trigger, I hope someone can confirm this really is what it seems. Thanks!!

PS was hoping to get a response from DVCers who might've just done this, but I think I might get a quicker response in the general board. Don't see a way to delete this...

We've bought tickets from several of the authorized resellers over the years. I'm not familiar with VisitOrlando.com but would check them out as I do other agencies. As long as they're an authorized reseller (meaning Disney sells tickets to them at a discount, which they then pass along to the buyer), I would have no problem buying from them. I would look closely at their delivery methods (e-tickets only vs. hard tickets mailed to me vs. tickets I'd have to pick up somewhere in Orlando) and return policies (some will accept returns of hard tickets, some won't) and would also compare prices with other authorized resellers, of which there are several - Undercover Tourist, Maple Leaf, Boardwalk Ticketing, Tickets at Work are the ones I can think of now.

You'll probably get several good responses here.

BTW for future reference, you can't delete a post, but you can click the Edit button and edit the Title to something like Never Mind and edit the body of the post to just a . or to say Never Mind or Sorry, wrong forum, etc.

And, now that I got the handy-dandy calculator out, it seems that the discount at Undercover Tourist is just less than 5%, and the tickets at visitorlando.com are nil (they don't show tax as part of the subtotal), so I am back to my original plan to buy $1300 worth of Disney Gift Cards at Target and saving 5%. "Gate prices" must be slightly higher than online prices through Disney.

Yes, “gate price” is the price of a ticket at the gate. Disney discounts tickets sold online. And prices at the various resellers can vary from time to time, so when we’re ready to buy, we check prices at them all - and compare to using our Target Red Card to buy GCs too!

At this point, anything to take a dollar out of disney's pocket so long as it's a legitimate disney authorized reseller.

Thanks for this, i had never heard of this site and they seem to be giving some nice discounts! Found some past threads about them and they're totally legit for anyone wondering.
I found them through Touring Plans who recommends them. I'll use them anytime that I need for tickets as they were super easy to use and had good prices.

We frequently use boardwalk too. There are calculators where you put your dates and required tickets in and it’ll tell you the cheapest authorized reseller for your trip. Cheapest for my dates is usually boardwalk.
