I guess I will join you. I was hoping to go in May-June, but we are going to California instead. October is my very favorite time to go anyhow, so I am good with it.

Now if I can just get one of those elusive pins, I will be happy!!! I asked DH if he has seen any emails in the last couple of months from Disney Destinations, and he says yes, but I just delete them. WHAT THE??????? He is sooooo FIRED! lol Guess I have to call and check and see if he has any codes tied to his name.

We're looking to take our first WDW trip at the beginning of Oct. 2010, and watching for discounts. So far, I've gotten one "false alarm" Email from Disney Destinations ("Check out our resorts" type).

Anyone have any opinion as to whether I'm better off going ahead and getting something on the books first, or should I wait out a bit for a code first?

Congrats!!!! We are still waiting here! I've saved a few trips and gotten the emails, but the pins just go as far as June! Come on Disney, just waiting on you to book our trip!

I got a discount pin code for our upcoming stay in Oct but it only covers 3 rooms and we will have 4. My mom is taking her kids and grandkids for our Christmas present and I want to help her get the best deal possible.

If I recieve the free dining pin that expires Oct 2 and our trip starts the 2nd, would we get the discount for the trip or just for Oct 2? Just wondering, any help would be great!!!

From what I have seen others post as long as you start your trip within the range you should be allowed to do free dining for the length of your stay

I just got an email this morning for the 20/30/40% of room rate PIN. We want to go in September so this should work great for us. Here's the dates it gives in case anyone is wondering: For stays most nights 1/18–2/11/10,
2/15–3/27/10, 4/11–7/1/10, 7/5–10/7/10,
10/11–11/23/10 and 11/28–12/16/10.

I got the 20/30/40 pin today. It actually says "So you are thinking of coming in October". They must have taken it from my saved trips on the Disney site.

I called CRO again the other night to check into some military discounts (my brother is in the Marines) and spoke to a GREAT CM named Veronica.

She told me that the military discounts I found are only valid for travel through 9/30/10 so they wouldn't help me for an October trip, however she did say that it looks like I have a free dining PIN attached to my name! It wasn't available to book with yet, so she couldn't get a lot of information on it, but she told me to watch my email and to check again next week to see if it's available yet. She also told me that if I am offered the free dining, it will be free QS dining, however we can pay the difference if we want to upgrade. Since we are planning on doing the DxDP this year, we will pay only $40 a night for it, as opposed to $72! I'll take it, if I can get it!

short answer, yes, if you get a discount code, you can call and have it applied to your current vaca. u might have to "cancel" and "rebook" but it's not dig deal. i've done it NUMEROUS times for the same trip when a better deal comes out than what i have booked . for example. right now I'm booked at a mod w/ a 30% off PIN, but if free dining comes up, that might work out better for us? just have to run all the numbers

Got it via Email. Thanks to the PIN, we're now booked in a Concierge Level room at the Poly for almost exactly what we would have been paying for a "regular" room at the Contemporary.

It's not the free dining I was told I was getting, and it's not even the 20/30/40 that other people are getting!

I'm going to wait until Monday and call back again if I don't get a free dining PIN

Is there historically a free dining promo at the end of Oct?
We are going for the last week of Oct. first week of Nov. this year. I have gotten pins for Disneyland but not for World in the last little while and am getting bummed out seeing all these World pins everyone is talking about and none for me.
