Is there a Bulletin Board or a place to post messages on board?

Hi,
We are sailing soon with a large group of DIS'ers and I was wondering how DIS'ers communicate with others while on board? This is my first DCL cruise but in looking at pictures, it looks like there are telephones in the room. Can you dial directly cabin-to-cabin? We are trying to plan group events and wonder the best way to reach each other on board. Is there a Bulletin Board somewhere where people post messages for others? Any ideas from you multiple cruisers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You can direct dial room to room. I don't know if you can, but if you have everyone's room numbers before you leave, you might be able to go to guest services and they might be willing to print up something and leave them at each room if you were planning a get together or something like that. Couldn't hurt to try. Have fun. :flower:

You could always post messages on the DIS under your cruise meet thread - Or even on the Live from thread!!

Maybe you could do like the repo cruisers have & assign one stateroom per deck for the info to be updated on or even one for the whole group to check.

Lisa, do you mean that the Repo cruise has one family on each deck spread news to others on that deck? Or are they posting messages on their door?

On the 10 day we make up a mini-navigator with everyones room numbers in it. Most of us also had post it notes and pencils on our doors. Worked good at leaving notes. We also used the message fish outside each room to leave notes and cards on.

That's it exactly. I am amazed at the organization that they have going on this week on The Magic. They have DIS events planned for every day with their own navigator being posted on assigned doors...one on each deck.

I was also amazed when reading about what the current disers on the repo cruise had going on. However, i read that there was one room that was assigned to distribute the DIS Navagators to the other rooms on that deck.

I guess it seems hard to really nail down times to plan things in advance without knowing what Disney has planned?? We are trying to set up numerous DIS'ers get togethers but how do you know that there isn't something "Big" already on the real Navigator? I'd hate to set up our wine party at the same time that Disney is having a Wine Tasting event or Bingo, etc.??

We are talking about making up our own Navigator for the week but I just keep thinking, "How do we know if these times will really work for us?"

If you have been on a cruise with DCL before you kind of know their schedule for things. Check out some of the recent navigators on the different sites to get some idea of what happens. You can also just go with the flow. Think about planning your DIS meets around definite DCL activities like the sail away deck party, pirate party, cocktails in the atrium on formal night, before the 4 pm safety drill.
