Is there a big difference between OKW and BCV?

Hi, has anyone stayed at the two? Are there alot of similarities?

No, they are not the same at all. Rooms at OKW are bigger and because of building layouts, will probably be quieter (BCV rooms are laid out with long hallways where OKW is separate buildings). Balconies are bigger at OKW. Theming is different. OKW is more S Florida palm trees while BCV is New England ocean. OKW is spread out, far from parks, quiet, relaxing--feels more like a destination resort with beautiful grounds, small ponds w/fountains , ducks swimming, etc. BCV is walking distance to Epcot and has a lot of hustle bustle activity, especially since it shares the Stormalong Bay pool are with the Beach Club and Yacht Club hotels (and it is the best pool on property).

Each place is very nice but you will definitely have a different type of vacation depending on which location you choose. If you want to feel like you are in Disney 24-7, you'll enjoy the BCV. If you want that down time to relax and recharge, you'll enjoy OKW.

The biggest difference is that OKW is a Condo-type resort- as in, you pull up and park at your building. All the buildings are seperate and it is a very large resort. You may be far from the main pool, restaurant, store, bus stops etc. Kind of like the CBR or CSR. It has interior bus stops because it's so large, so it's not as if you'd have to walk far every day. The rooms are bigger at OKW than the BCV. There is no room service, no hotel lobby that every one goes through. There is one full service restaurant-Olivias.

BCV is connected to the BC hotel with interior hallways. You would share all the hotel amenities available to BC/YC guests, for example room serivce. It's more like staying in a hotel. It is a much, much smaller resort than OKW. There are many more restaurant choices with the BCV. You have all the BC/YC ones. The Boardwalk is insanely close with all it's restaurants. Plus Epcot is a 5 minute walk with it's choices. Disney Studios is a quick boat ride with it's choices as well as the Swan and Dolphin.

We have friends that love OKW and it has many other loyal guests. We prefer hotel accomadations to condo-type ones, but that's just us.

Got to agree with Pakey - these two resorts are very different. As you might guess from my screen name, we prefer OKW. Not that there is anything wrong with BW - its got a good location to be sure. We just like the relaxed, away from it all atmosphere at OKW coupled with the much larger rooms.

I agree with all PP...very different resorts, but each is great in its own right. It all depends on what you're looking for...
