Is There a Better Day for Brunch on Magic?

I was curious which day is most requested for brunch, if any. We would love to do Palo's for brunch (we will skip Palo dinner because we want to dine with the kids). Since this is our 1st Disney cruise, I don't know which day to reserve. I'm sure any day will be fine but are there days with "can't miss" events that would make us regret choosing a specific day for brunch?

Which day do you prefer for brunch on the Eastern Magic sailing?

Any day is a Good day to dine at Palo's!! :cool1: (I LOVE the crab legs!!)

But a sea day makes the most sense. :boat: Don't forget to get up and make your ressies when you board.

I think any day for brunch is a perfect day. Don't forget to try the stollen bread!

I was thinking a sea day would probably be the best choice. I just want to know what day I want to request when I go to sign up AS SOON AS I BOARD! ;)

I have absolutely no idea of brunch is offered on days other than sea days - after four cruises we finally made it to brunch on cruise #4 which was a 4-night. BUT, if it is offered on more days other than sea days, I'd choose a sea day mostly for the view & ambience. Check out this photo taken in Palo during brunch last month:

Great pictures! Makes me want to do the dinner too. I wonder if there is a way to do dinner with the kids and dinner at Palo's. Of course we would not actually eat with the kids but just be there with them. Hmmm...I'll have to figure this one out.

Thanks for the link to the pictures!

feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Palo brunch was only offered on days when the ship was at sea.

On our Western it was offered on Sunday morning (we arrived at Key West at noon), Monday morning, and Thursday morning. I assume when we take the Eastern this year it will be offered on the same days.

This should make your choice a bit easier, but remember...the character breakfasts are also held on these same at sea mornings so you want to find out which day you'll have your scheduled character breakfast before picking a time and day for Palo brunch.

How do you know when you'll have your character breakfast? I'm assuming it has to do with your rotation, and therefore, you don't know until you get there. Is it a certain time?

I'd like to know too. I'd hate to make my brunch ressie for the same day as the character breakfast.

married -- yes you can do both -- it's referred to as double dipping on the boards. we did -- we went to Triton's with our DDs (informed our server we were going to Palo) DH and I ordered an appetizer and glass of wine and sat with the kids and our tablemates and just talked with them as they ate. Then we checked the kids into the club and we went to Palo. We did this on a sea day and saw the matinee of Disney Dreams in the afternoon.

Jacobatt1 and Married2grumpy, your character breakfast is based upon your dining rotation.

For example, DH and I had the APL (Animator's, Parrot Cay, Lumiere's) rotation on the western intinerary - our character breakfast was scheduled on Sunday morning.

I do know that when you check in at the terminal your dining rotation will be noted on your key to the world card. Ours was APLAPLA. When you go to make your Palo reservations just ask them, based on the rotation shown on your card, which day your character breakfast will be scheduled.

I've read that if your dining rotation starts in Animator's your character breakfast is on Sunday; if your rotation starts with Lumiere's your character breakfast is usually on Monday, and if your rotation starts at Parrot Cay your character breakfast should be on Thursday.

I would still double check once you're on board, but I think this is correct.

Thanks for the info. I guess this is the one thing I can't pre-plan. Arrggg! I'll make sure to double check the day of the character breakfast before I make our Palo ressie.

ohMom- That's a good idea. I like the though of "double dipping". Doing the matinee show would take care of my worries of missing the show while we are in Palo.

Thanks for the info--I guess I'll either aim for brunch on the other day at sea or a LATE brunch on the character breakfast day. Anybody know what the hours for brunch are?

Brunch is only offered on sea days.

Character breakfast is the first sea day after you have Animator's the night before. Don't worry your server will remind you.

As for missing things. If you are DVC members and want to go to the full DVC Member party I woudln't do Palo Brunch on the first sea day (or on Sunday) on the Western.

We did a group brunch on our last sea day and it worked out great as a way to celebrate the cruise and share all our stories.
