I actually booked my trip with my AAA agent yesterday so now its all set in stone, the true countdown starts now, only 199 days. But hey in just 19 days I can make my ADR's.

I also booked airfare this week. I hate playing the waiting game with fares! Fares from Des Moines are nutso. crazy. rediculously high. and there are no direct flights to Florida, everything has a transfer.

So I booked non-stop flights out of Kansas City on Midwest. It's a 3 hour drive, but even with the cost of gas and a night at a hotel (park and fly) I'm still saving over $200 versus flying from DSM.

Yes, there may be Southwest special fares or dings that come out once they release the dates I need, but based on past fares, I would only be saving another $100 total for the 4 of us. I'll take the peace of mind and assigned seats now.

I am waiting for Southwest to release April dates. they r very slow with it. Then I will book from Ohio and drive there from West Virginia.

Be sure and check out their forums. Last time I went, and I will this time too, I posted my touring plan on there and the "veterans" looked it over and gave me suggestions on how to tour more effectively.

i certainly will. thanks. I think I am pushing my trip up 3 months. so all planning is on hold for a day or 2.
