Is the world REALLY going to end tomorrow?

Well incase you haven't heard there is a project happening in Switzerland. They have created a machine that will smash particles together and will possibly show what the universe looked like bilionths of a second after the big bang. The big 'Switch-on' will be tomorrow. More info in the website below. People have been told that there are a number of possible outcomes. These include the creation of a black hole or even the world ending. My physics teacher, no lie, told us that he had been invited to the launch of this but he couldn't go because it was too near the beginning of the school term. More information in the link below.

I heard about it on Mock the Week... I'm very scared... but I heard they're only sending one stream of particles around tomorrow, and the other stream going the opposite way, will start on the 21st October.

I also heard that it could make a black hole every second, but they would be so tiny, that they would die out right after being made. I'm still confused on how it can make a black hole, because I thought they were only made when a dying star collapses.

Another thing. There's supposedly a 1 in 500 million chance of it making a black hole large enough to engaulf the Earth.

Yeah, I heard about it yesterday. It scared me at first.
Me and my friend were talking about it all day.
But I don't think they'd do it if they weren't absolutely sure that nothing would happen to the planet.
I don't think anything will happen, but I'm still a little scared.
Then again, if it does, there is no use worry about it. Nothing we can do.

But I do also agree they might decide to not do it last minute.
