Is the water really awful?

I have read several posts that mention bringing packets of a drink mix such as Crystal Lite. Is the water really that bad? Should I add this to my packing list?

I think most people are suggesting it just as an alternative to soda.. saving money for those who don't want straight water..

hoenstly I don't know I usually bring bottled water :)

Are you picky? It's not awful and I don't recall it being overly chlorinated (that's why I have to filter my water at home). I'd drink it out of any water dispenser in the restaurants; I think that water is filtered and it tastes fine. The fountains, not quite as good. (I still drink from them, with and without drink packets, but I know some people here wouldn't touch them for anything.)

In my estimation, if you're just planning to drink water in restaurants, you'll be fine unless you're really picky. If you're figuring to brave the DL water fountains--then if you drink tap water at home, or drink from drinking fountains in general and don't mind, then I think you'll be OK.

Drink mix packets are cheap; you could buy a pack and bring a couple with you just in case. If you don't like the water, a little bit of drink mix powder should cover the taste. I never use a whole packet myself (too strong!) and rubber-band the packet closed in-between uses.

Have a great trip!

Yes... You don't want to drink the water in the Rivers of America, Pirates of the Caribbean or Splash Mountain. The water on It's a Small World may be ok since they refurbished the ride back in 2010.

It's not awful, the packets just make the water more interesting :confused3

I drink the water all over Disneyland. I also have crystal light packets in my pockets to mix with the water as I don't drink sodas and have to be careful about too much lemonade.

Snow White's grotto is an aquired taste. Personally I prefer the water at Pixie Hollow Pond. The water spurts make it easy to refill my bottle but I've got to be quick and accurate. Storybook Land has got a whale of an aftertaste.

Thanks, all!

I was assuming it would only be needed when refilling a water bottle from a drinking fountain (if at all). I have never had a problem with water served at a restaurant... so I guess I'm not "really picky". :goodvibes

I was mainly just trying to narrow down my list of things that we "must not forget" vs. things we can live without. I will toss a couple packets in my purse. I want to make sure we all stay well hydrated. :)

Thanks!

I think it's nasty, but I'm used to really good well water up here in Washington! BUT, I'd rather drink nasty water straight then mix in artificial sweeteners and colors. So I just deal, and try to drink it with ice/cold as much as possible because it tastes a bit better.

At least it doesn't give me a sore throat like the water in Pittsburgh does. That's one place I have to buy bottled.

That is funny Crazy Duck and Suzie..... quite frankly I like the rain water the most that accumulates from the Haunted Mansion's rain gutters. The CM's put new containers under the spouts, so that way, none of the water has to go to waste than necessary. Then when I and others visit the land, we fill our water bottles with said rain water. It is super tasty too! I sometimes will add the flavor packets, for my taste buds do like them very much. Especially Market Pantry's brand packets to go in the Strawberry Lemonade flavor. It is a perfect color for Halloween, a very nice colorful red, or is good for anytime of year for that matter.

You're all wrong, the best water in the parks is the toilet water at Club 33. Since we all know its Evian Water specially imported in crystal casks from the French Alps. ;)

Oh that is correct. Forgive my error of water memory ways. ;)

I was super thirsty in the hotel and ended up filling my water bottle with tap water and sure it's not filtered but when you are thirsty it's pretty okay! Same with water fountains in the park. When you're dehydrated and don't feel like paying 3 bucks for a new bottle of water, that free stuff isn't so bad! :)

THe water pumps at the gas station in tune town are unreliable due to the build up of scale.
