Is the skillet really that good @ WC ? ? ?

WE weren't impressed with it, just average and some of it was dry and obviously overcooked. Then to make matters worse we had a terrible server and never got a refill after asking the rare times we even saw her. 3 adults with the skillet and never got a refill! after waiting 1 1/2 hrs we asked for our desserts to go and she seemed surprised we weren't happy. So my answer would be NO and we don't plan on going back.

We will be trying it for the first time in November. I sure hope it's good! :)

We love it! But then again, anything I don't have to prepare or clean up afterwards is good.

When we went a couple of years ago we had the skillet for the 4 adults in our party, kids ordered from the kid's menu. When we were all finished with it, we did get more of the pulled pork, ribs and the corn bread YUMMY!!!!!! I too didn't like the sausage, but I am not a sausage kind of girl, unless it is breakfast sausage. We are going back in June, and can't wait to have the skillet again :goodvibes

My husband had the skillet last Monday night and he really liked it. He even wanted to try to get in there again on Friday but we didn't want to wait an hour plus. I ordered off the menu and got the pork chops which were good. The cinnamon tortilla with bananas was good as well.

I'm sure the skillet varies on who is cooking and such. He didn't eat the salad. We had a somewhat disappointing dinner at Narcoosees that week in which he stated that the skillet was better than that.

We are giving this restuarant a try this trip , I wanted to try this meal , is the sausage the same as at Ohana. Does anyone know , I did not like how it tasted there.

JUst returned today from WDW. We tried the skillet at Whispering Canyon for the first time. Although I would return to the restaurant, I wouldn't get the skillet. It was just OK. The milkshakes were great, we loved the interaction with the waitstaff and the desserts were awesome. I didn't try the sausage becasue of the reviews it got on the DIS.

We go to Whispering Canyon at least once each and every visit to WDW. I have ordered the skillet every time. I have never been disappointed. But I am a meat and potatoes kind of guy.

The skillet is not a gourmet meal. You have to realize that going in. It is ribs, pulled pork, smoked sausage, beans, potatoes, and corn on the cob. I would classify it as grub you would find out in the early western days -- trail riding food.

Last year when our family of five went to Whispering Canyon three of us ordered the skillet. I did not think it was overly great and I would order off the regular menu next time. I would go back though because it is a very nice hotel, fun setting, great desserts and the kids loved the bottomless milkshakes.

Happy planning!

Ann Marie :goodvibes

I got the skillet years ago and thought it was just ok. Edible...but certainly not worth the money. If you are on the DDP it may be worth your while though. Last year we had the nachos and some kind of cheesy pasta...these were both really bad...maybe it was an off night - but we are not going back. Holly

We love the dinner skillet at WCC. It is a must do on each trip! The ribs are tasty and tender. The pulled pork is absolutely delicious. The chicken is great! We are looking forward to it again in June.

We love WCC, particularly our kids -- it is a one-of-a-kind experience, and I don't see how the kids find time to eat.

But I won't be ordering the skillet again. The chicken and pulled pork were good, but it was too much meat and generally too ordinary. That meal is a protein overdose waiting to happen.

You just sold me on the skillet!

Personally I dislike it. I tired it twice jsut in case it was an off night the first time--nope it was not good the second time either. HEARTBURN big time!:scared:
