My siblings and I did a trip to Magic Kingdom last Saturday so we could ride on Splash Mountain before it closed. I was hoping to grab some Merch from the gift shop but I guess everyone else was thinking the same thing I was thinking, because all the Splash merch was gone and it all just generic Disney stuff. Lol.

ANYWAY. We decided to do dinner at Cosmic Rays. But the live-performing robot wasn’t there. Is there any word on if he is coming back? It was a bit disappointing because the food there kind of sucks, but the robot made it a fun place to eat. I tried Googling about this but didn’t have much luck finding anything.

Heard from a bus driver that the Sonny Eclipse and the Expedition Everest Yeti are chilling at Trader Vic's in London

Like some other animatronics, Sonny something disappears for a few days for repairs, even goes through refurbs. Fun fact, the stage is double decker, Sonny's stage is on top, the Club Tinsel stage is on the bottom.

I suspected that may be the case, but wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything —like a planned re-theme of the restaurant with no robot or something along those lines. Thanks for your reply!

Sonny has been there both times I have visited in the past 2 years (so since covid). Unless you're referring to a robot character I'm not familiar with. He's not a robot, but he is an animatronic.

I knew he was an animatronic, but for some reason I remembered him being a robot animatronic, like a cyborg guy. Turns out my memory failed me and he’s like some sort of alien guy. Haha my bad. But yeah he wasn’t there last Saturday. Thanks for your reply

They always say that. But even when they do reopen (like in L.A.), they struggle to rebuild consistent business and fade away.
