Is the Pirate cruise worth the money?

My daughter would really like to do the Pirate Cruise, but it's like $30. Can anyone give me an unbiased review of this event? Was it worth it? She is 7, and very outgoing, and still very much into the "magic".

Definitely worth it, no question. The problem is trying to get a reservation. If you are considering it at all, you should get the ressie asap.

As far as details, I can only give you what my son told me (no adults allowed). The search for clues on the lagoon, have a snack have LOADS of fun and get a cool pirate hat.

It was one of the highlights of his trip, I will be doing it again for sure, this time get the ressie exactly at the 90 day mark iand keeping number instead of running around like a chicken with my head cut off to get him in again.

Have fun! :wave2:

My kids loved it. The oldest (who was almost 9 at the time) was by far the oldest child on the cruise, so I would say 7 is the perfect age, especially if she is still "into the magic".

We watched the boat leave from our balcony at the GF and could hear them out on the water occasionally, and they seemed to be having a GREAT time.

Not really. My kids (5,5,and 7) were not that impressed. They were given uncrustables and juice boxes and the pirate booty was junk from oriental trading company. The kids just wanted to get back to the pool!

Hi!

My kids loved the Pirate Cruise, they are 9,7 & 4. We were trying to reserve for our December trip but all booked up :guilty:.

My son loved it at age 5. At 6, he was bored. We shouldn't have done the second trip, but he really loved it the first time. Lesson learned.

I would think a girl would enjoy the wonderland tea more than the pirate cruise.

Hello...it's 2005!!! My DD's LOVED the pirate cruise when they were 5 and 7...even more then the tea party!

I gotta say, my 2 DD's (5 and 7 also) both wanted to do the pirate cruise again, but not the Tea Party. For DD7, this was her 3rd straight year, and she said she still had a good time. My DD5, this was her 2nd time, and she still like it also. They did the tea party for the first time last year, and didn't enjoy it as much. My 2cents.. pirate:

My two sons did the Pirate Cruise last year (Novermber) and totally loved it!! They were 6 and 7 at the time; my nephew who was 5 went with them too. All three of them came back on cloud nine sporting their Mickey bandana pirate ears. We were asked all day where we found them. My oldest son loved the "mystery" of the trip and loved the treasure map. They just had a great time. My husband and I enjoyed 2hours to ourselves and walked around the GF and ate and shopped in peace.

The Pirates Cruise is THE Disney World bargain. Our granddaughter did this last December and had a blast, as well as her mother and me. The kids literally beam getting onto the boat and then they practically burst when they get off the thing.

A few notes - your daughter will be paired with another child about her same age. She will be given a pirate's bandanna to wear with her name on one of the ears. She will have to wear a life jacket (you help her pick it out). The Cast Members will check for proper fit. You'll be given a beeper and a receipt when you check her in. You will need BOTH to get her back (I know, it's tempting to lose one of them, right?). You can easily see the kids going onto the boat and getting off the boat. It's a very, very safe and secure process.

Spend the $30 and I practically guarantee you won't be disappointed. Unbiased opinion.

Our then 10 and 5 year old sons, along with their young cousin, did it last year and had a blast. It worth is just to hear a large pontoon boat full of kids departing while saying "ARRRRGG!!!" repeatedly while wearing the pirate mouse ears!

we saw this cruise several times during our recent visit.....the boat passed us in the water a number of times and we saw it loading up at the GF...
it looks totally adorable...
and the CMs seem wonderful.....when we passed them on the water, the kids were totally enraptured....sitting and listening to every word coming out of the CMs mouths....it was very impressive how well behaved the kids were and how much fun they seemed to be having..

in fact, i wouldn't mind going on it myself....so yes, even though i haven't had kids on it, from my observations it does seem to be well worth it....the kids certainly were having a great time...

Is there a website with all the info? Where do I book? My two sons would love this. Please any info would be greatly appreciated!!

kennyssenorita..for all the info, search these boards. For booking, you need to call the Disney Dining numer, and I would call at exactly 90 days before the day you want to book.., ::MickeyMo

have you considered a fishing expedition instead? :boat: the price is approx the same, and they get snacks/drinks, no lunch... my kids LOVED IT! the boat only takes 5 or 6 kids and there's a captain and a first mate... they are "guaranteed" to catch fish :fish: (disney's lakes are well-stocked!) and was the absolute highlight of my children's 11 day vacation! they did the one from the yacht/beach club and dh and i enjoyed the time to relax and check out the resort...

My pirates sailed on the Albatross cruise in June. They were 5 1/2, 8 and almost 11. They had a fantastic time. My oldest, a daughter, was under strict orders to play along and not wreck any fun for littler pirates by guessing everything; she returned happy as a clam, not bored, and my younger tattle-tale pirates said she wasn't bossy. My youngest wants to go again in December. The oldest is glad that she voted to go on the cruise instead of out to breakfast at Fresh with Mom and Dad.
