Is the Not-So-Scary parade worth it with a 2 1/2 yo?

We're heading to DW in a week from today (YIPPEE) and although we have done DW in September before, we have never done the parade (DD was 9 and 13 months the last 2 times she has gone). But, now that DD is older and understands much more (she will be 3 in December), is the parade worth the money? Also, being it is at night, I am afraid she won't last all day (even with a nap) and then be up for going back at night). Can we buy the tickets at the gate if we decide to go? Also, can anyone tell me what it's like? Thanks!

If you dont mind seeing it yourself prior to seing it in-person, watch a "Boo to You parade" video on YouTube and you can judge yourself if you think the toddler would enjoy it.

I would highly recommend the party. We have been to Disney dozens of times and have seen the parks "dressed" for almost every holiday and this was by far the best i have seen MK look. Yes, you can see the decorations during the day but the ambiance at night is amazing. We went to MNSSHP 2 yrs ago when the boys were 2 1/2 and 4. We slept in, hung out at the pool, took a long nap and then went to the park at 4:00. The boys rallied and stayed strong until 11:30! The "Boo to you parade" and Hallowishes were outstanding- the best parade and fireworks show I have ever seen at WDW. The trick or treating was fun for the kids and seeing all the guests dressed in costumes was fun for us.

Yes, you can buy tickets the night of the parade- as long as it's not sold out. I would not waste a park ticket during day- especially if you are worried your child won't make it all day and all night.

Enjoy!

We think it's totally worth it!! Youngest DS wasn't quite 2 when we went. We have video of him bouncing in his stroller to the music while oldest DS 4 at the time danced alongside him!! Great memories! We also have the cd that has the Boo to You parade song on it. It plays year round here while both boys now 6 and 3 dance around like crazy!!! If you plan an easy morning they should be fine for the party and parade!

That parade is amazing. And my son loved Disney parades when he was 2. But that would have definitely been too late for him at that age....at Disney he was so tired from parks that he slept more than at home.

I'm still kind of torn. I'm afraid that DD won't make it that late and it will be a waste of money. I think I will just wait and decide once they are there. Thanks! :)

Yes u can buy tickets at the gate as long as they are not sold out for that night. My girls loves the Halloween party one was 11 months and the other time I had a just turned 3 year old. The parade is great and some how staying up late in disney is not a problem. Since ur child is still under 3 they are free. Well worth it

I definitely think so. The first MNSSHP that my daughter attended was at 2 1/2 and she ate up every single minute of it! She loved the parade and fireworks, the trick or treating, the dance parties, etc.

At that age, my twin boy's favorite THINGS were parades! They also stayed up very late- we'd go back mid-day for naps, so they were able to stay up for fireworks, etc.

If you are planning to do MNSSHP then I would just sleep in (if possible that morning) and hang out at your resort swimming and relaxing. Then try and get a nap in and be ready to party. You can get into the MK at 4pm with the party ticket. Grab some CS food for dinner and pick what is most important to do and get in line before the party starts.
