I read that the manatees area has been closed off for a while. Is it still closed?? We will be there in two weeks and we would be so sad to see it closed.

We saw manatees in SeaWorld last week. I haven't been before so I don't know if it's the same as it always was.

The manatees are in the same basic tank as the turtles at Turtle Trek. This exhibit wasn't shut down in December that I recall, although periodically some manatees may be moved in or out of the area for medical or testing procedures.

I can't recall any other place where someone might have seen manatees at one time that would be closed now. The penguin area is definitely closed, and certain rides and attractions are down for yearly work for a period of time. That is all I can think of.

The manatee exhibit is now an experience called "Turtle Trek". Turtle Trek is a 7 minute long 360 degree 3D movie. Before and after the Movie, you experience the Manatee and Sea turtle exhibits first with an underwater viewing and then an overhead viewing.

So they don't have the area with the little lake anymore?

They do. That's the overhead viewing that you see after the movie. The lake is now divided in two. Manatees on one side and turtles on the other. You can also skip the Movie and just see the overhead viewing but if you skip the movie you won't see the underwater viewing.

Thanks... It is such a nice and relaxed area.
