Its only going to be me(28) and my mom and dad....am wanting to do somethig nice the first night we get there.

We enjoyed it!! My kids liked it too-not so much the meal but they liked the show. You get a lei when you arrive & they take pics-it's a nice dinner show.

I'd suggest something else...luau is a lot of fun for families with kids but it is noisy with the games being played and the entertainment. the food is OK but massed produced as opposed to order.

You have many options but 50-somethings may not appreciate the action IMO

I have done the luau a few times, the old one, the kids one, and the new one.

Everyone in my family loves it, however I'm not a fan. I find it boring. The Hoop dee Doo is sooooooo much better and Cirque de Soliel is a million times nicer.

However, if you are staying at the Poly, go for it. It is a good way to get into the Poly spirit.

I think you may be thinking of Ohana. The restaurant at the Poly, where they have coconut races and singing around the restaurant.

The luau is performed outdoors in luau cove, there are no kids running around and is not noisy.

We went on Thanksgiving and it was a blast. We really enjoyed the show which is a stage type show so there is nobody running around you while you are eating. They only do things on the stage and they don't allow kids to run around. Actually one got yelled at while we were there. I think you guys will enjoy it.

It's one those "must do" things at WDW, IMO, but for us it was sufficient to see it just the once. Food was very average...good but average. The show's the thing.

We enjoyed it and thought it was well worth the money :thumbsup2. We were on the dining plan but opted to pay OOP for tier 1 seating rather than use 2 TS credits and we're so glad we did......our seats were great :goodvibes. We thought the food and show were great....I think it's definitely a must do atleast once :).

We did it once, I'm glad we did it but I don't need to do it again. The show was only so-so but we did get great service.

DH and I did the Spirit of Aloha Show in Dec. The food was okay, but DH
was bored and kept bugging me to leave early. Hoop-de-doo was much
better. I would say to try it once. If you can only do one show, though,
see Hoop-de-doo.
