Is the Lab One Big Room?

Quick question for all you experts! DS is 5 and DD 3 when we cruise. I know they will be in different age groups in the Lab. But my guys would be most happy if they could still "see" each other. Is it one big room where DD can see DS? We would consider "stepping down" DS to DD's level - but I really think he would enjoy his own age more as long as he could see where his little sis is occasionally. Any replies would sure be helpful!

Actually your kids will be in the Oceaneers Club until the oldest turns 8...yes, the area is mainly a big room and your kids will be able to see each other alot but at some times the younger kids (3-4) do an activity separate from the older ones (5-7)...you will be able to drop them off at the same place at the same time so that will probably help with separation anxiety for your youngest!

First of all, the above answer is correct. The Oceaneer's Club is the area for 3-7 year olds. It is basically one large room, however, it is broken into many areas. There is a place for dress up, for coloring, etc. The kids are broken into age groups, and then sometimes further into smaller groups for a particular activity. They will be able to see each other and sometimes do things together.

Occasionally, the 5-7 year olds "invade" the Lab (scheduled while the older kids are doing activities elsewhere.) The Lab is also primarily one large room, however, there are some areas separated off with partial walls. The music (CD area) is almost a room by itself. There is no where that the counsellors can't see what it going on, but it it well designed. It doesn't feel like a huge room, although in reality, it is.

Thanks for the replies. I get so confused with some of the Disney names. My kids will be in the "club" - and it IS one big room. It sounds like they will be able to handle getting an occassional glimpse of each other. Thanks again for the updates

My kids were 4 & 6 on our last cruise & I never dropped them off at the same place at the same time. DS was in the lab or on the sports deck with the 5-7 yos & DD was in the club or the lab. There are some times when the two groups are together. You will be able to figure that out by comparing their navigators. They list the location of each activity.

We just got off the Magic last week and I also almost never dropped off my kids 4 and 7 at the same place. They were both technically in the Club, though they rarely were in there the same time. Usually DS 4 was in the club with DD being in the lab or somewhere else around the ship. I can count the times on one hand that I picked them up the same place and my kids went to the club A LOT!!!!
