Is the Holiday Inn Downtown Disney ever going to open?

I don't have any answer for you on the DTD Holiday Inn. I have wonder the same thing. What a waste of space and great hotel location. But I just noticed tonight on tripadvisor that there is a newly renovated Holiday Inn in Kissimmee.
Holiday Inn Maingate East. I think it opened in Oct. It use to be a Travelodge. The new rooms look very nice.

I'd like to know too. I just received a brochure on Downtown Disney and Holiday Inn was included with the rest of the hotels. They just didn't show room photos like they did for the other hotels. I don't know if HI being included in the brochure really means anything or not, but it seems like a very long time to have a hotel just sit there, particularly when it is in a prime location.

I called the Holiday Inn corporate office in October about this since it's always on their website. They said they have no idea if or when this property will open. It's really a shame because it's been vacant for years.
