Is the food at T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe the same, just with different names?

I read somewhere they're owned by the same groups. I've eaten at a Rainforest café before, but never a T-Rex. For those who have had both, is the food different....like different recipes, flavors, etc. or is it just the same menu with differently themed names?

For the few things I get at each one, they are not at all the same. They don't even have the same items from one place to the other, in my short list of things I eat there.

I've eaten at both....they do have a lot of the same items on the menu. But they might be executed a bit differently...so technically not exactly the same.

Personally I prefer TREX menu though, plus the atmosphere is more unique. We have a rainforest near me, thats why I didnt find it appealing. Both are good. All depends which atmosphere you like best.

I've heard T-Rex has better options and larger portions. But...I've heard them and Rainforest are about the same. It's not so much a culinary experience, more of an atmosphere experience.

I thought that T-Rex was significantly better. Certainly the two restaurants are in the same style. And the menus and food selections are definitely "family casual". But the selections and preparation at T-Rex seemed to be a full step above in my opinion.

They definitely use different preparation methods. I quit eating at Rainforest (never went to one at Disney) because something with their prep methods always makes me sick. Last January ate with a friend at T Rex and had zero issues.

As mentioned, there are menu and item differences. But for us, we've been to both, and find them similar enough where we wouldn't do both in one trip. The atmosphere/concept is essentially the same, and both of their food is on par with other chains like Friday's, Applebee's, etc. We haven't had bad food at either, but it's nothing special IMO.

Same owners, same restaurant different trappings, same food providers, Very similar menu. Nothing to write home about but not a bad meal either.

We prefer the food at T-Rex by a small margin. Like PP have said, nothing spectacular about it but typical family casual dining. The atmosphere at T-Rex wins by a mile compared to Rainforest, though.

But I will go against tide and say we have consistently had better food at Rainforest and hands down the service at Rainforest has always been attentive while at T-Rex, barely exists. I think everyone should try T-Rex and experience it, walk around, take pictures but we have found ourselves going back to Rainforest over T-Rex most trips.

Standard fair at both with very little difference between them. The theming is different. The only advice I can offer is be ready to use hand signals with the waiter and your tablemates due to the uncomfortable loudness.
