I've got to choose between the Garden Grill and Teppan Edo. We've never done GG, and the kids are excited about eating in a rotating restaurant, but the menu doesn't look very good to me. How is it? We love TE, and I really hate to pass it up this trip, but I also really want to try at least one new place. :confused3

We ate there last Oct. and we are eating there again in Sept. We liked it and I have 1 very picky child and she even liked it.

Choose the Garden Grill the food is good.. the character interaction is awesome. and the Restaurant is cool. We have ate there our last 2 trips on our first night there. My kids love Epcot and that place.

Thanks! We probably will go with GG since we can eat at Japanese Steakhouses here at home. But I really love TE. :guilty:

Give GG a shot. I was hestitant too our first try, and now it's a favorite of ours. Others who have joined us there on various trips all also enjoyed it. character interaction is great, food is good.

We are going to Garden Grill next trip. We also have Japanese steakhouses all over the place at home. We did go to Teppan Edo in 2008... and honestly, the cooking tricks are the same or better at the places at home.

I really enjoy GG. It's one of my "must do's". I've never had a bad meal there. Also, they have a decent selection for kids that they will also bring out family style whether you have kids there or not.:rotfl: The mac and cheese and sweet potato sticks are great and the cookies and cream mousse thing is the best, although I kind of which they'd brink back the worms in dirt

We ate at GG in June. The food was really good. The character interaction was good. My only complaint is that the table was too small. We had three spills just because the size of the table and the amount of food:) Our service was very good. I have never ate at TE but hope to try it . Have a great trip!

I wouldn't say the food is especially good, but it isn't bad either. The salad is yummy. We did it in April and are doing it again in 2 weeks, I particularly liked the privacy of the booths. It really felt like it was just our family with the characters.

We liked the veggies but didn't like the stuffing or the meat.

Besides that, I totally dislike this restaurant.

It's one of our favorite character meals. One reason is because Chip & Dale are favorites of my boys:goodvibes
Also, the food is very fresh. The veggies are excellent!
When we've been there in the past, the restaurant is less crowded than many other character restaurants. We were able to see the characters several times and they spent some time at each of the tables.
We are trying TE for the first time this trip and are looking forward to it. (We're also eating at GG too!)

I thought the food there was great!:thumbsup2 You didn't just get the basic burger/chicken fare that you get at almost every Disney restaurant. The character interaction was great and not as hectic as CM or 1900 PF. I prefer family style too.

It looks like from your sig that you are going in December. Do you have ressies for GG yet? I only ask because I have been trying for weeks and can't get anything the entire first week of December. I think it's because it is usually one of the restaurants offered for the Candelight Processional package so people have ressies hoping that is true again. I am hoping some of them cancel so I can get it. I don't usually have trouble making ressies for this restaurant.

We love GG. Great food great atmosphere. You really have to try for yourself though. We eat there every trip

Yes, I've got reservations at both (second week in Dec). Once I decide, I'll cancel the one we don't need. I think I'm going to let the kids pick. That will make it easy for me. :goodvibes

In that case, I think you should cancel the Garden Grill one and go with the other one. That way; I may be able to get it if it is before the 12th. :lmao: Just kidding (not really) it is a great restaurant though. The menu is not as extensive as other places but the atmosphere is pretty cool.

:) You are half way there... One DS picked TE, now I just need to ask the other one after swim practice tonight. If I cancel, I'll send you a PM so we can set up a time and hopefully you'll be able to get it! It is on 12/8 at 4:30ish (can't remember the exact time right now).
