Is the Epcot Dessert Party worth the money

DH and I did it in November and really enjoyed it. The desserts were all pretty decent, I think there was one thing we didn't care for but I don't remember what it was. The rum punch and champagne that was included was a really nice touch too. If you drink at all you can easily get your moneys worth.

We would do it again.

That's interesting

We have seen a lot of bad reviews online and poeple saying not worth the money and just can't decide

If you are interested in the desserts and drinks and not staking out a spot, it could be worth it to you. However, IMHO, there are so many great spots to see Illuminations around the lagoon. It's not like the evening fireworks and shows at MK and DHS where people are crowding in one area to see a show. If you want to save money, grab a dessert in WS and find a spot around the lagoon about 30 minutes before the show. Just make sure your view is unobstructed

worth it is subjective. If you are a billionaire, then the cost is 4-magnitudes away from being a rounding error. For someone that saved for 5 years to go for 3 days, then it is extremely expensive and most likely not worth it. The real question is whether you value your money for what it cost and the excitement in your kids' eyes. For my DD, eating a churro sitting on a bench is more than enough.

We have saved for a few years and need to be careful out there. Sounds like I would be better just getting a drink a desert and leaving it

Part of me feels after the show am going to think well that was a quick 100 dollars gone when I could spent that money drinking round the world through out the day with out an hours rush

If I do the desert party am going to be downing the drinks to feel I got my money's worth lol

We thought it was a great value! They have a nice selection of desserts but also include savory items- the pretzel bread and beer cheese dip was amazing! They have a fruit platter as well. It is a great view- most all of the tables are waterside. And it's usually not sold out- so you're not crammed in like sardines! And the rum punch and champagne were great! Definitely got our money's worth!:thumbsup2

I was trying to check the cancel policy for you but I keep getting stitch errors.
I have tried a lot of the different dessert parties around WDW.
Usually I am travelling alone and like to check them out to compare.

We did the Illuminations dessert party for the 1st time on DS's 21st birthday this past July, after he spent the day drinking around the world.
We enjoyed it. The desserts were ok and savory items were good, and DS drank enough for both of us. :drinking1
Although I did have champagne and some rum punch too.
These dessert party's are overpriced in my opinion, but I like to check them out anyway.

I have done Wishes DP, Illuminations DP, Star Wars DP in HS, Osbourne Lights Dessert party at HS, and the Jingle Bam Dessert party in Dec. at HS.
I'm planning to check out Tiana's ice Cream social on MY birthday in March. That one is really overpriced.

My favorite has always been the Wishes party. They had the best desserts, in my opinion.
If I had a big family I wouldn't be doing these dessert parties tho because it is expensive if you don't have alot of money.

If you are worried about viewing location. there is plenty of great viewing areas around the entire lagoon.

Does this hold true for Easter week, or are there still tons of easy good viewing spots you can get 30 min before illuminations?

We did it last September and loved it. Had a table right by the railing and definitely drank $40 worth of champagne. I couldn't eat all the treats but they brought me my own plate of vegan goodies and I was able to have fruit and chips/salsa from the offerings. Such a good spot that I felt the heat from the fires on my face and the unobstructed view along with not being crowded by people made it worth it to me. (it was also quite romantic with the hubby!)

Cancellation is 24 hours for refund and you get the funds back depending on your banks processing time.

This (and MK dessert party) are ones I am hesitant on. It is mostly due to the fact that there are so many good locations to see Illuminations and so many great snack options around Epcot that you won't get stuck with a bad view if you wait and there is more then enough food available.

MK is similar with the fact that there are just so many places to see MK fireworks and have a good view that the dessert party when you are on a budget just isn't needed.

Now DHS on the other way we have always found those dessert parties totally worth it. It helps that now their dessert party is indoors so you get out of the heat.

Based on your follow up that you have been saving for awhile and "need to be careful out there" I would advise against the dessert parties.
