Hi All,

I have always wanted to stay at the DLH. I decided against it for my trip in a couple weeks mainly due to the construction. Is is worth a quick visit? Could anyone reccomend anything special to see?

I too have always wanted to stay at the DLH, but it is very costly compared to the good neighbors. Every time we plan a trip I like to see what the cost would be and I'm always blown away with the price difference between the DLH and the good neighbors. I end up going with the good neighbors because it fits my budget better.

The Hotel to visit is DCH... Or if you are going to Goofy's Kitchen then it is in DLH so then for sure look around...

The best thing to "see" at the DLH is the waterfall area, IF it's not all closed off because of construction. It's in front of the tower that's to the far left if you're coming in from DTD.

There are also some cool topiaries and the wedding gazebo over to the left of that tower if you walk down there.

I love the remote control boats behind the pool area. They are a model of the Jungle Cruise ride. We spent quite a bit of time there.

I love the hotel. The theming is beautiful. I loved the wardrobe with the map of the original park on the front, the tinkerbell wallpaper, and the themed bedspreads. I don't know what the rooms look like after the renovations, but it was fabulous a year ago.

We did not pay for a special view, but were fortunate to be looking out towards the pool area (blocked by a tree). I loved people watching from my balcony. And it was a very quick walk to Goofy's Kitchen. We ate there several times and really enjoyed it.

Staying at the DLH was worth it to me, but I am crazy for theming. Rugs, wallpaper, soaps, and Mickey shampoo. It just makes me happy.

That said, I believe my walk from the non-Disney hotel we stayed at was closer. I did not mind the walk though, since we looked at all of the shops at DTD on the way. I did like hopping on the monorail and being dropped in Tomorrowland. Made the wait for Nemo quicker for us.

Overall, I recommend it at least once if you can afford it. If not, then enjoy that quick walk from just across the street at a perfectly good hotel!

Many of the things that people are mentioning (waterfalls, remote control boats, etc) are gone for good due to construction. I stayed there a few weeks ago and tried to take a walk around the grounds while a friend napped. There currently isn't anywhere to walk. Lots of lovely construction walls, and that's about it)

Not worth a special trip, that's for sure. (GCH, on the other hand, is definitely worth walking through!)
