Is the Disneyland Annual Pass worth it for the room discounts?

I see right now that they are offering up to 30% off on some rooms. But I've also heard that you can get even better rates by booking via Expedia sometimes.

Just wondering when the Annual Pass starts to pay itself off...

The APs usually have room discounts that are close to the general discounts.

It's better to consider the AP discounts on food and souvenires.

The room discounts are nice, but they seem to be running a lot of specials that equal the AP disc. The thing I looked at was, will I use this more than once in a year, will we be eating at Disney restaurants so we can get the discounts & do you buy souvenirs.

I have a large family, so I got the Premium AP. I get free parking, 15% on dining & 20% on merchandise. I more than got my money's worth out of my pass. We eat all but maybe one or two meals at the parks/hotels & we also get quite a bit of merchandise. The discs. added up fast for us.

If you are going solo or with one or two others, it could take a few trips to get your money's worth out of a pass.

Remember when figuring it out, that you aren't buying the parkhopper.....so, as an example: if you're going twice in a year....... depending on how many days you go & which pass you're looking at buying.....it's possible that it will have paid for itself.

The AP will give you discounts year round, even during the times Disney isn't running specials & I know that the HoJo on Harbor will also give you an AP discount of rooms & in their mini mart/gift shop.

I'm attending a conference at the Anaheim convention center from June 22 through June 26. The conference rate at the Disneyland Hotel is $197. This is slightly more than the main conference hotels (either the Hilton or the Marriott). Can I get the price of the Disneyland Hotel lower using AP rates? It would be difficult to justify paying more than the main conference hotel to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. (The GCH is even more and I'm not interested in the PPH.)

I've tried to see what the AP rates are, but my pass has expired and I can't get in. (BTW, at the moment it appears that the Disneyland web site is dead. Someone's head is going to roll.) If I can't find a cheaper rate I'll probably end up at the Marriott Fairfield or the Embassy Suites.

Thanks!

That is a great rate. Though since you are going for a convention, are you also going for the park? Will you be able to use the extra MM access?

There could be great advantages of staying onsite if you plan to go to the parks and Carsland is open.

Ditto. You won't get cheaper than that with an AP.

I use mine for the HoJo discounts, like 8 days for $700 in a Disney view premium room :)
