Is the Disney VISA worth it?

Anyone have particularly good/bad experiences using this card? Dh and I were thinking about getting it to help earn $$$ for our next trip, but I read somewhere that you can only get $750 per year in reward dollars.

Just wanted to get some opinions! TIA! :earsgirl:

To get $750 in rewards dollars, you'd have to charge $75,000 per year - which is $6,250 per month!

I have the Disney Card and I'm looking for a new card. We charge a lot (not the max!), but a lot anyway. The Disney Card limits us to only 1% and then I can only use the Rewards Card certain places. I would rather have a card that gives me cash back at a higher rate that I can use anywhere.

I got one last year, specifically to get the 7 days for 4 deal and a $50 sign-up bonus. Best deal yet, plus you got $100 DD on check-in. Knowing that we were going, we charged everying to the card and ended up with about $100 to spend at the world. The rewards card was accepted everywhere.

I assumed that there would be other deals in the future, but have yet to see any. 1% back is OK but not great. They sometimes have double points deals but I have yet to receive one. On the whole, it it not that great a card.

The double points are only on certain purchases (like Groceries, Gas, Home Improvement stores, etc) and then only on amounts over a minimum amount. The minimum amount depends on your spending habits. If you spend a lot, your minimum is high. If you spend a little, you minimum is low. Our minimum amount for a month is always in the $1000 range. So we would have to spend $1000 on the limited list of things and then we would receive double points for purchases over and above the $1000 on that same list. I'm not sure we ever received bonus points! Because of the sliding scale, I think the "bonus points" are a big scam and one of the reasons I don't like the card.

I got the card on one of the $50 free promos. It turned out great, since we were going a cruise and used that $50 right away. However, we really had to fight to get it, as they didn't credit it automatically and kept insisting we weren't entitled to it. After lots of drama, I finally told them to pull the recorded conversation I had with the rep. where she assured me I was eligible for and would receive the $50. Long story short... I was happy with the $50, but madder than heck at the customer no-service department. I've kept the card, just in case any room discounts should ever show up (I earn a few points here and there on it but have been really disappointed in the "offers") but IMHO, there are better rewards card out there that accrue rewards faster, have better customer service, etc. Not a bad card if you're a Disney freak and want to earn points that are good just there (to help with "forced" savings), just hope you never need anything from customer service.

I have this card and one of the reasons we got it was because we were promised 25 reward dollars if we used it by a certain date (which we did). We still have not received the reward dollars, called customer service, they never responded back to us. I got an email survey tonight asking me what I thought about the card, it took 30 minutes to complete. They kept asking the same questions over and over, but I was so angry I completed it and voiced my displeasure. I can't seem to access the website, I don't know if this is just me. Have'nt received any specials or anything. So I would not bother using this card anymore. :sad2:

I just returned from WDW and used my rewards card with $200 on it. It was great. I received the $50 bonus rewards for signing up (50disneyrewards.com) and then earned another $150 on it by charging between $1500 and $2000 a month on it. I never did receive the double points. I'm going to start using my new Citibank Cash Back Dividend card for a while. It has a better return.

We normally use the American Express Sky Miles card. Since we have already booked our free flights to MCO for our next trip, we decided to start using the Disney Visa to accrue rewards. It's definitely slow going and unless they come up with some other offers, 1% good ONLY at WDW just isn't a good deal.
