Is the Disney Visa Card worth it?

Trying to figure out whether to get a Disney visa or a cash back card from another bank.

The 1% back on the Disney visa isn't enough to go with that card, since I can get 3% back on grocery and gas plus 1% back on everything else with the other card.

So the only reason to go Disney is for the special discounts/offers they provide.

Can anyone share some recent offers that they got for being a Disney visa card holder??

Thanks

I have had a disney visa since they bagan offering it and truthfully I think the benefits have gone downhill, especially in the last year or so (I think that is when Chase took it over). I have had no problems with the customer service mind you, but the offers don't seem to be as good - For example in 2/05 they had a special cardholder night for Disney on Ice - We were able to purchase two adult tickets for $8 each and received 2 kids tickets for free - they were great seats I might add. This year nothing. Sometimes there are extras posted - mostly merchandise and for Disneyland trips. The only thing you may want to factor is there is an offer that will give you $50 in rewards (basically $50 gift card) by entering a code when you apply and use it once. If you are interested you can pm me and I will give you the code. (I don't get a kickback or anything, it was just a flyer that came in my statement to encourage me to get friends and family to join)
Hope this helps!

I have had Disney Visa since "day 1." I have a Citicard that gives 5% on groceries, gas, and drug store purchases but it has a limit of $350 back in one year. I use the Disney Visa for everything else including car and homeowner insurance, cable bill, cell phone bill, department store purchases, etc. That way I get the "most bang for my buck" with the Citi card but still earn rewards for Disney; e.g. so far this year I have earned $215 from Citibank and $212 from Chase Disney towards our trip in November to WDW!!

I have never taken advantage of any other offers from Disney and, as Elsabear said, the benefits have gone downhill. I know some here have been offered double rewards back for a certain period of time but that has never happened to me.

I keep my card mainly for the free character meet and greet and photo at Epcot.

The vacaction package that just came out sounds like a pretty good one.

I just saved $574 on my 10 day package at ASMu with 10-day hoppers!! From $1,848 down to $1,274. (With dining it would have been $2,163.) That's for 2A & 1C.

It's a promotion they just started for Disney Visa holders...and I'm happy they did! :dance3:

I've had the card from day one as well. I use it for my business and last year went to disney with 1300 in reward dollars. I didn't have to spend any cash. It was great. If you use your card enough the 1% does add up and the benefit of not spending cash at WDW is the best. I have never used any of the special offers. I still think the card is great however they should increase the amount of reward dollars you can earn.
