We'll be at DL at the end of June, and I've always wondered what the Disney Outlet store is like. Is it worth going to? Or can you get better deals at the Disney Store Outlet?

Thanks in advance...

IMHO, it is definetly worth it!:drive: I assume you are talking about the DLR Outlet Store, on Harbor and Orangethorpe. You will need a car, it is too far to walk. And I must also say it is a gamble. I have gone there and walked out with my arms full, and I have also walked out without making a single purchase. I also do not buy anything at DLR until I have looked at everything. Then I go to the oulet, and on occasions things that I have seen that I would like to purchase at the DLR are at the outlet as well.:confused3 GO FIGURE..I saw a top at the DLR for $28.00, and on the same day I purchased the same top (no defects) at the outlet for $14.99. It is a great place to find souvienirs for friends, that want you to bring a little something back for them from the "happiest place on earth". :tink:

I feel the same as Tink.. Sometimes I can drop $50 something so easily, but I do go and leave a bit disappointed sometimes. They update their inventory twice a month, so I try to make it there at least once.

I have been there twice on the last two visits to DL.... I think I will save the money for gas and buy my stuff at the DLR.... both of my visits have been busts...

I think it is totally worth the trip but you have to remember that they don't have the same current merchandise as in DLR. At least the times we have been there. Most things are a few months old but they are very good deals if you don't care about that!

YES! Make the trip! I bought a set of four pins (DS in a pin collector) for $9.99, I saw the same set at DL a few months earlier for $24.95. We have a "Disney Outlet" that comes to our local outlet mall a few times a year. They have the same set right now for $17.95. The outlet near Disney is part of Disney. The employees work for Disney. This traveling outlet is in no way connected to Disney.

Thanks! This is good to know. We'll be staying at the HoJo, so I can let DH take the kids to the pool while I drive over and go shopping (he hates to shop!). I've always wanted to go, so I think I'll add it to my things to do.

Does anyone know how much it costs to take a taxi over there from HoJo's?

Got to correct you on this. The Disney Character Warehouse Outlet is not affiliated with the Disney Company. It is run by AMS Liquidation. There are 2 permanent stores (Fullerton and Las Vegas). The one in Pomona is supposed to be permanent as stated by the manager when I visited last. Its right next door to the Mattel Outlet Toy Store off the 60 Freeway. They also have temporary stores that open up in various outlet malls throughout the US. Once in a while, they do sell other merchandise from other non disney theme parks. I remember seeing Universal Studios merchandise when I traveled up to Northern California once.

I have noticed that prices vary from store to store. I found better deals at the Pomona store than the Fullerton one and better merchandise. Its a hit or miss though. I haven't been for a while though.

We visited the Fullerton store on Saturday. We typically go to the "traveling" store in Sacramento when it is here.

I found the store MUCH cleaner and better organized than the traveling stores. I also found a better selection size wise for most items. (not all S or not all XXL).

We don't buy many souveniers, so it depends on what you are looking for. We did buy my daughter a stuffed pluto "pirate dog" and my son a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt was 50% off of store prices according to the tag, not a bad deal at all.

Lots of clothes and some pins. Very few toys. Several holiday items.

I recommend if you are going to do some park shopping and you have time, to stop by.

We usually hit up the traveling store when it's around our area too. We will have some "extra" time this Saturday before we can check in to our hotel, can anyone tell me where exactly this Outlet is?

We go to the permanent one here in Vegas , and it is just like the one on Harbour but a little bit smaller. I thought the prices at the Anaheim one were much cheaper.

There is one in Midvale, Utah, which usually has a great amount of stuff, if anyone from around here is wondering. We hit it to get stuff for everyone before we go. The one in Fullerton is pretty hit or miss, though. If you are looking for trader pins, though, and didn't order them from Ebay, that are usually only a few dollars each there.

Just wondering if the ART stops here? I know it's in Fullerton, but thought I would ask. If not, about how much by cab from DLH? Thanks guys:thumbsup2

I agree with hit-or-miss. I stop in every couple of months - sometimes I buy nothing, sometimes I can barely carry all my purchases to the car.

Right now they have the Pirates of the Caribbean ears for $3; I stocked up for Pirate night on our DCL cruise. :thumbsup2

Another alternative is public transportation for $1.25 each way or $3.00 all day ticket. The #43 bus from Harbor Blvd at the Disneyland Entrance is about 20-25 minutes to the Disney's Character Warehouse Outlet on Orangefair Mall in Fullerton.
