Im not sure if The Aquarium is all over America or just Texas but we love to eat at the one here in Houston. We were wondering if The Coral reef restaurant was just the very same deal. If it was we wont bother going. Has anyone been to both? thanks

If you are talking about a tank with several million gallons of water and Dolphins, giant sea turtles, and other very large denizens (including divers), yes. If you are only talking about a couple of thousand gallons and most fish under a foot long, No.

We have one of those restaurants in our local aquarium and it
owned by Landrys. I found it very overpriced and food not good.
I've never eatten at Coral reef but if it's like the restaurant we have
I don't think I would like it. I am worried because we are trying
Yak and Yeti and it is also owned by Landry's-I'm not going to get my
hopes up about the food. Rainforest is owned by Landrys and always
thought their food wasn't good either--is there a pattern? Maybe.

The only big difference between the Aquarium and Coral Reef is that the Aquarium actually serves seafood other than fish, and the Coral Reef doesn't.

I actually like the Aquarium better, atmosphere-wise. At Coral Reef you have to work/beg/cross your fingers so that you get a tank-side seat or your view is less than stellar; at the Aquarium the restaurant wraps around the tank and so you have a better view from everywhere.

Quality-wise, the Coral Reef has a slight edge on the Aquarium on some dishes, but their kitchen has a much smaller menu to work with.

As for Yak and Yeti... keep telling yourself that it is meant for an American palate, and that it is created by a company whose roots are in gulf coast seafood and not the Szechuan province, and you'll be okay. It's not bad.
