Is the chest in front of the studio sofa a working chest?

Is the chest in front of the sofa a working chest? Does the top open for storage in a Studio DVC? The above picture is from the Polynesian Studio DVC.

It looks like you could move the chest to the bathroom with the toilet and tub, to be on the wall between the door and the sink.
It would be a great place to store some clothes, since it looks like less drawer space.

Our DS would sleep on the sofa, so we we keep it open to a bed and our DD would sleep on the Lilo/Stitch murphy pull-down bed, ans also keep it open

We would place the pack/play in the closet on the top shelf to add more room in the closet to hang clothes.

So cool - We can not wait to rent a DVC Poly Studio !
