Just back from a terrific adults only anniversay tip & now we are thinking about taking the kids down vor 3 days in December before our AP's expire. I've never been in December & imagine it will be beautiful to see the Christmas Decorations! Is the 2nd weekend in December a good weekend to go? (13th-15th) ...will the crowds be slow or heavy? Oh - and what are the Osborne lights?

We have been a few times during the second week of Dec. into the weekend and the crowds were...well, there were no crowds!

The Osborne Lights have been dubbed the "tacky light tour" at our house! Every house, bush, light pole etc on the back lot of the Studios have been covered in lights! There are even a few hidden Mickey's in the lights! A must do on our Christmas visits for sure!

Have fun!

This is my favorite time of year to go. We will be there again this year from December 6-13. Have fun.

Just wanted to add that we were there in Dec (5-13) 1999. There were no lines for anything and the kids were swimming in the outdoor pool at 10PM...temp in the low 80's. It can get chilly and we usually had on sweats or jackets in the morning, but the days are great and the resorts are all decked out in the Christmas decor. You'll love it.

We were there last year Dec 14th to the 19th and it was great. It was cold though in the 40s at night and 60s during the day until Wednesday and then our last day it was shorts weather. In 2001 we went the end of Nov first week of Dec and the weather was great, in the 80s.
The only park that was crowded was MK, but it was not bad during MVMCP so we were able to get alot done then.
The parks and the resorts are so beautiful, it is a great time of year to go. You will love it

Well we went in early Dec. '01, the 2nd - 8th, so it was actually a week earlier than your trip. The weather that year was fabulous, in the low 80s and no rain. We swam several times. I think that year was warmer than usual, though, so be prepared for at least cool mornings and evenings. There were virtually no crowds with the exception of a Fri. afternoon at MK. The parks were all decorated for Christmas; it was beautiful. I second Tiggerkeepers advice, don't miss the Osborne lights, they are unbelievable! They also give you some kind of 3D glasses, and if you look at some of the lights with the glasses on, there is a design around them. We saw angels when we went, another year I heard it was snowflakes, so I guess they change the glasses every year. We loved Dec. so much, we swore we would never go at any other time, although we're going in Oct this year for MNSSHP. You will have a great time! :D

We were there last year during the second week (starting on Dec 7th). The crowds were light and the rains were HEAVY! It was also pretty cool with almost every day requiring long pants and jackets. Too cool for the pool. Hopefully you'll have better weather than we did.
