Is Thanksgiving week all booked up yet?

Our DVC contract is scheduled to close in about 3 weeks. I want to book a 1-Bedroom at BCV for the week of Thanksgiving. I'm worried that it's gonna be sold out. I'm looking to arrive the Sunday before Thanksgiving and leave the Friday after.

If you are buying through disney you should be able to make a reservation before you close. When I added on at BCV my points were in my account the next day and my guide told me I could make a reservation with them before closing. Call your guide and you should be able to get your membership number. Good luck! We went this past Thanksgiving and had a great trip!

I just booked the BCV starting the Friday immediatly AFTER Thanksgiving and didn't have a problem at all. I signed up through the email system.

As far as Bw is concerned I was unable to get a room for the day before Thanksgiving which is the 26th but all the other days were open. We are waitlisted for the day before.

Same was the case for OKW Grand Villa. We are waitlisted for 11/26, but all other days were ok (but I was told that we took the last GV for 11/27).

We're actually booked in a OKW GV the week after Thanksgiving week - from Friday, 11/28/03, checking out on Friday, 12/5/03. Boy, those weekend nights are killers! 123 and 91 points!

But what the heck! We bought enough points so we wouldn't have to skimp on the weekends. We need the weekends to maximize DH's limited vacation days. After our last trip, DH & I have determined that we HATE moving around, so that option is no longer viable for us.

JMHO - I would think that a GV would be very popular for many locals to reserve just for the Wednesday & Thursday of Thanksgiving (11/26 & 11/27). They would have a large enough room for a family gathering and not have to mess up their own kitchens!

If our waitlist for Wednesday 11/26 don't come through, more likely than not, we will cancel our ressie for 11/27. I'm with you, moving around is a pain. However, using the luggage transfer option is a way around it (but the gratuities should do add up quick).

Hope you get your wait-listed night. Maybe if someone cancels a ressie which includes both 11/26 & 11/27, we'll both get lucky! Assuming, of course, that we're next in line on the wait-list.

It's not the TRANSFERRING of luggage that's the pain - it's the PACKING itself! Our stuff is usually spread out through the four corners of the unit within a half hour of checking in! Always got to keep under the sofa cushions because DD(1 1/2) loves to "hide" things there.

Hmmm....Unless the luggage transfer option INCLUDES packing and unpacking? They would definitely be earing that gratuity!!! Ha, Ha,...

But again, rather save the gratuities for WDW spending or buy additional DVC points!
