Is test track overrated?

Well, I can't comment on M:Space yet, but I can say that in my opinion, Test Track is VERY overrated. I know I am not alone on this either. My family and I went on it just after it opened and all but a couple of us were disappointed and thought it fell far below our expectations. I haven't ridden it since.
That said, I am planning to give it another go in May when we are back, just because some in our party have never been on it and because it may be worth the 15 minute fast-pass wait.

We're gonna try it again in December as well.

The trouble is, it's so hard to find that healthy balance between thrilling and properly themed. Disney isn't just going to build a giga-coaster in the middle of the park...they tend to make up in lack of thrills with really good theming.

IMO, Tower of Terror strikes the balance between properly thrilling and wonderfully themed perfectly. Rock N Roller Coaster is also well-themed and more of a thrilling ride. Test track is just nothing compared to those two.

Haven't gone on Mission Space yet.

it's an o.k. ride but i wouldn't neccessarily call it a "thrill ride" and it's interesting but i definately wouldn't do it more than once a trip and even then i would get a fastpass b/c its not worth standing in line for in my opinion.

I don't think it is over rated, but it is fun. We usually ride 2-3 times every trip and really enjoy the outdoor testing the most. 90 minutes, I would not wait, but would use single riders line if possible. Still a fun time!

I get to bypass the line via the employee lounge and even I dont ride it every time we are at EPCOT. Its just OK in my book. I would never wait 90 min. for any ride at WDW though.pirate:

StacyA That is TOO funny!!!! What a small world!!!
Speeding on Federal Road- ha! Where! 4 Corners is sooooo slow!! Look for me on Super7 though! LOL (red Viper) (no cops on these boards, right?)

I did the singles line and was in and out in about 15 minutes... The last 30 seconds makes the ride! I'm glad I did it!

My family LOVES TT! But we have young girls who aren't thrilled about going on real thrill rides, so DH and I were excited about taking it a notch up from Small World!

But there is no way we would wait 90 minutes. Fastpass or an under-20-minute wait for us.

I know Test Track is a big attraction but do people think it is overrated. Granted we stood in line for 90 minutes because it had broken down and all the fast passes were gone early but finally getting there, the ride did not do much, I can get more than that driving down the highway. The brake test per the video I expected to spin out of control but just got a little swerve, the bumps were slow and everything else was just nothing. Talked to others that we stood in line with and they thought the same thing, not worth the wait.

What is everyone's opinion on this, just wondering?

In our view it is not worth a 90minute wait. We have always used the single riders line as it is just my husband and I and I do not think that we have ever waited more then 15minutes or so. Even when it first opened. We love the ride but then again I am not sure what my point of view would be if I had to wait 90minutes to ride it.

I think that if you have spent a few days beforehand doing rollercoasters then it is a letdown as it seems slow. If it's the first fast ride of the holiday or if you aren't into rollercoasters then it's probably more enjoyable. I wouldn't queue more than around 15 minutes for it.

I like Test Track but to may there is no way I would be waiting in line for 90 minutes. Every time we go we get the fast pass and that is the only way I will go on that ride. The first time I went on it I was expecting some great ride but when it was done I was like thats it??? It's not a very long ride at all.

Good Lord - you people all sound like a bunch of teenagers with all of the "boring" talk.

Do us all a favor and stay at home and go to your local Sux Flags park to get your "thrills" - that will reduce lines and overcrowding.

Test Track is exactly what it is -- a well themed Disney attraction.

We think it is a great ride but we would not wait more than 15-20 minutes for it

However they do need to do better upkeep and mtce - last time none of the instrument cluster was working and the seats needed repair or replacement

thanks

We are all entitled to our opinion...mine is I don't like it and I don't go on it, so you won't have to worry about me being in line.

No No a thousand times NO. Test track is not overrated (in my opinion). I LOVE it :):bounce:

We really enjoy TT in our family! I like that my 9yo actually wants to ride a ride that "sounds scary". I always come away with a smile and the desire to ride again!

I don't ever want to wait 90 minutes for a ride, and know that the wait time does affect my level of enjoyment for an attraction/ride. The word fastpass is the best word in the WDW dictionary!

I loved it! i think i have waited longer than 90 min. I loved it when u turned on a dime!!!!!!! I dont know about you but that was one of my fav's:smooth: :smooth:

I happen to love it too. It is a great "Disney" ride. But I don't go to Disney for thrill rides, I go for the magic and the pixie dust experience of it all.
