Struggling General Motor's may not renew there sponsership deal with Disney,when there 10yr contract ends this year.x.

Aww that's a shame! I've never been on this ride and I'm not sure if my youngest will be tall enough to ride it this year (which means none of us can, single parent).

It's shame we might never be able to try it. :S

I can't see them closing this ride - it's by far one of the most popular rides in Disney - let alone Epcot.
And I am sure it generates a fair amount of revenue from photos and merchandise as well.

I agree, it is one of the main crowd pullers at epcot.

I rode it for the first time last year, And really enjoyed it

We love it too - and have been stuck on it a couple of times!! I think that they would probably find another sponsor though, I can imagine that it's a good money maker, the lines are always very long, even for single riders.

Oh no they can't close it down. It took me three years to actually give it a go as I'm nervous of indoor rides, now this is my absolute favourite in Disney.

I am really looking forward to next years trip and actually riding this ride at night as I think of of my rides have been during the day.

there not the operater thats disney.all there doing is sponcering it.like cadburys did with corrintation street they left now its harveys.this would make little impact on the ride itself.just in the post ride area there would be no GM cars differnt products in the shop.
Worst case they wouldend get a sponcer but the ride would continue.outher rides have chnged sponcers over the years spaceship earth comes to mind AT+T to siemans

I read on the main US board yesterday that there are rumours that Toyota are looking into taking over the sponsorship for next year? I can't see Disney closing this ride, there queues are always long and I'm sure Epcot would loose SOME (not all I may add) appeal if this one wasn't there.

I think they'll just remove the sponsor's products from the exit area. I remember walking through a rather empty Spaceship Earth post show area when they lost/changed a sponsor.
