Is T-Rex pretty much the same food as Rainforest Cafe?

We just added T-Rex for lunch on our arrival day. We are going to be in DTD anyway and eating OOP for that one meal, so I figured why not. My older kids saw pictures and were very excited about it. But it looks very pricey for burgers etc...like Rainforest Cafe. So is it pretty much the same food?

Thanks!

Yes, it is very similar to the Rainforest Cafe. While the dishes may vary a bit, the selection is very similar. It is pricey for burgers, etc., however we've found that the portions are absolutely huge and we share entrees. We order two entrees for the four of us and there is always plenty of food.

If you haven't been there I"d definitely suggest trying it. It's a fun place and the food is very good.

we were not impressed with T-Rex. We were there during opening month last year, and it was horribly crowded and very expensive. The food was just average (very similar to Rainforest). Maybe if you share entree's you could save a few bucks. The atmosphere is neat for kids, but you could easily check out the restaurant without dining there.
IMHO, it was not worth the money. The kids weren't overly impressed and I know we won't be going back.
Go to trexcafe.com to check out the menu.

We love TREX we have been 3 times since it opened and LOVE it. We always get the Chicken Flatbread and ask for extra balsamic Glaze! It is wonderful. My DS is 2 and he loves the atmosphere. I have been with my parents who are in their 60's and love it and also with friends and family from out of town age ranges from 1-50. We aren't fans of ANYTHING at Rainforest but love several things at TREX. We also love the build a DINO. My son made one when he was 15 months and drug the box all over DTD it was so cute we are doing it again this spring trip. Go into it with an open mind and you will enjoy. Make sure to check out the Ice Cave!

BTW...I am a post surgical Bypass patient and have easier time finding food choices at TREX.

Funny, i thought T-rex's food was far and away better than Rainforest cafe.

We were seated in the ice cave, which was fun!!

We had the Footprints Flatbread (menu description: Warm flatbread topped with cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan and goat cheeses, rotisserie chicken and carmelized onions, drizzled with a balsamic glaze) for an appetizer which fed three of us and actually kind of filled us up! all three of us LOVED IT.

I had the lasagna which was huge and filling, boyfriend has just a burger but said it was one of the best he's had, and friend had the Pteradactyl Salad.

And whatever the drinks were we had, can't remember, were delicious.

Yes, it was pricey but we had a great time, an AWESOME waitress who chatted it up with us quite a bit and knew the menu very well and gave us the awesome drink and appetizer recommendations. And it's just a fun place to go.

Way better experience than at rainforest cafe.

Thanks for the replies. I will keep the reservation because it seems like a fun place to eat. And since it is just lunch maybe we can share like a PP mentioned.

I am also keeping my eyes out for a coupon...you never know!

We have a T-Rex here in Kansas City (used to have a Rainforest as well) and have eaten at the ones here...I found the food to be almost identical.
We have a rainforest breakfast reservation but won't do T-Rex (why since we have one here:rotfl2:). I have a very hard time finding anything I like at T-Rex although I do have two items I enjoy...their burger and a mushroom ravioli dish they have. My 8 year old son absolutely loves it (of course he only ever gets the dino shaped chicken nuggets).
