Is switching showing times attached to a dining package possible?

My family has a Rivers of Light package at Tusker House for 11/20. Was excited to add the package to my existing reservation by dropping the regular breakfast and picking it back up as a package. However, it is for the 2nd showing (8:45) which I am afraid will be too late for my 4 yo son and 72 yo mother -- both 1st timers in the parks. Is there any way to get it switched to 1st showing? Or, can you talk your way into tickets for 1st showing instead once you get there? (I tried calling, but CM said it couldn't be switched.) Help?

That seems unlikey. I think if you were trying to switch to the second show you might be able to do it. I guess you can keep searching for a first showing to pop up but I would expect the first show to be more crowded/harder to get.
