Is summer cheaper than spring break?

We were hoping to cruise over spring break 2018, as my oldest will be at an age where it's harder to take him out of school for a week (we do Disney every year in February as of now). However, for the 4 of us it would be $9K for an outside stateroom (no balcony). That is absolutely out of the question. From anyone's experience, would summer be any cheaper? I'm so disappointed - a spring break cruise for this year was only about $6500 when I looked a month ago.

Possibly if you book as soon as the dates are released for sale. The longer you wait, the more prices will increase. Best to jump on a rate you're satisfied with when you se it as they will only increase.

I know how you feel, I want to book the Wonder for Easter weekend only 3 nights. Inside room 1 adult 1 child, a sea day and a day at Castaway Cay $1800, $300 per person per night. That's plus airfare and a hotel for the previous night could be $3000 for a long weekend. I thinks it's too much :(

The classic ships are cheaper than the newer ships, case you haven't checked those.

In general no. I feel your pain. We have two in High School and one in Middle School. Off season is no longer an option for us either. The bottom line is my family, for now, has been priced out of DCL during school breaks. I watch rates like a hawk because I really want to do another family Disney Cruise.

If I recall correctly either this past summer or one before there were a few last minute rates that dropped because they were not selling well. Personally, I think they were priced to high to begin with. I'm not sure if that's doable for you? We live in FL and found that even with the slight drop in rates last minute on these cruises we were still priced out. I think they still may have been more then opening day.

As a FL resident we have found our best rates last minute, off season. Some even less then opening day. Oh, how I long for days when school schedules don't dictate life.

We did cruise RC Allure of the Seas with three other families last spring break, week before Easter. Saved a ton over what Disney wanted for my family of 5. We had a great trip and I would do it again. It was just a different type of cruise and as long as your okay with that it can be a wonderful trip.

Yes, it is true that the Disney classic ship are less expensive and fabulous cruises. Have you looked into pricing for your dates? This may be an option for your family.

Our Spring Break is usually mid March and Summer has always been more expensive.

Summer is usually more expensive than Spring. When you look at Spring, the dates that are always the highest are the week before and after Easter. The rest of the dates are more reasonable.

I see now that you said February. I bet the date you are looking at is president's weekend, another high week. Anytime the majority of kids are out then it will be higher prices.
