Is StubHub LEGIT?

StubHub is owned by Ebay. Ticketmaster is the biggest scam going, legit sure but they charge an insane service fee....

I was going to say what the PP said--Ebay & SH. Also Ticketmaster has it's own resale site, tickets now.

When people logged in to buy BS tix, they were redirected to their resale site. I want to say they got the AG involved in it and I think a senate inquiry. I think there is an investigation into the consolidation of TM and the resale company. I am not sure what has happened with that though. I think that is why he did the extra shows though.

Here is a decent article on it, the BS incident:

As for TM, doesn't anyone remember Pearl Jam warning its fans about this years ago?

I got DBF Ranger tickets for his birthday two years ago-- I paid $232 for both tickets (including tax, stubhub fees, etc) and each were marked at $145, so I got a great deal. Maybe I dealt with a "newbie" who didn't realize the value of mark up!!

I used them for a sold out Leonard Cohen show in Boston. no issues, arrived quickly. And the man who sold them only marked them up a bit over face value.

I've bought and sold tickets on StubHub with no problems. It's a great source for sports tickets because many season ticket holders, who often have prime seats, sell their unused tickets there.

we have used stub hub for many events at several venues - never any problems!

Yes, they are legit... I've used them several times for hockey tickets with zero problems. In fact, they are official ticket "resale" partners with several sports teams... including Major League Baseball: http://www.stubhub.com/mlb-tickets/

I have used StubHub many times with no problems. As others have said, if you want tickets for a sold-out event, this could be the only way to get them. Does it burn my butt? Yup, but I would still rather pay StubHub's fees than Ticketmaster's (talk about a scam). However, not all sellers are scalpers and I have even managed to score tickets for less than face value on non-sold out events as the sellers just seem to want to make some of their money back. I always check out StubHub before buying at the box office (especially if I am going to a Detroit Lions game )

I buy all my Yankee tickets through stub hub. I get seats better than I could ever get on my own- company owned kind of seats.
I have never had a problem and spend probably three times what they cost but getting in to a game I really want to see is worth that to me.

Got my Eagles-loving husband his first ever Eagles ticket 8 rows from the field on StubHub a few years ago. For face value! No problem with the transaction, and was I a hero on Christmas morning! :thumbsup2

Got a set of Red-Sox/Phillies tickets there, too. (Made DH and DS happy with that one.) I'm pretty sure those were marked up a bit.

If you care less about the price and more about the safety of your transaction and validity of your tickets, I say go for it. And the nice thing is you can keep checking in on the site and the price may change in your favor, or you might catch a ticket at face value when one is posted.

Anyone ever get tickets from Stubhub? Is it legit? To me, this seems like scalpers over the internet no? I am a little confused, someone please clarify stubhub for me. :confused3
Trying to get tickets for Adam Lambert at the Borgata in Atlantic City for my mom. They have NOT gone on sale to the general public yet, just for people who joined the Adam Official website (so I guess they a pre-selling a limited amount) and I still cannot get them for her.

I have both bought and sold tickets on stubhub and had good experiences. I also never charged nor paid more than face value(plus fees) for anything I've bought off there...Not sure if those kinds of tickets even still exist on there as it's been over a year since I've used it...so it might just be full of people trying to make extra money....I've also used Craigslist with great success more often to buy/sell tickets.

My name is Sue and I am reaching out to you on behalf of StubHub Executive Customer Care. We saw your concern and wanted to reach out to you and provide some peace of mind regarding our site.

It might help to first explain that StubHub is a secondary ticket marketplace, meaning we are not a ticket seller and hold no ticket inventory. We depend on individual sellers to list the inventory found on our website, to provide the tickets exactly as advertised, and to ensure the validity of the tickets being sold. Some of the sellers that post on our site are either season ticket holders or have subscriptions to certain venues or ticket sites, meaning they would have an opportunity to purchase their tickets prior to the general public. I would like to assure you that fulfillment issues and invalid tickets are not a common occurrence with our services. We keep careful track of our seller accounts and uphold them to our User Agreement. We also have our Fan Protect Guarantee in place, which states for buyers, you will receive your tickets in time for the event and they will be authentic and valid for entry. In the unlikely occurrence there is an issue, your tickets will be replaced with comparable or better tickets or we’ll provide a full and immediate refund.

If you would like to discuss further please feel free to email me at yourfeedbackmatters at stubhub.com Attn: Sue and I will be more than happy to follow up with you and address any questions and be of assistance to you.
