Is Stitch really that bad?

I've only read the first two pages, but from what I can see, my wife and I must be in the very small minority of people who kind of like it! :rotfl:

The seat stanchions have been bad mouthed a lot. I understand that to a degree. I feel that the pain that is reported by many is greatly exaggerated. However, if that is the case here is a hint. Sit up real straight when the shoulder restraints come down. As soon as they hit your shoulders they will stop. Once they stop you can sit back and the restraints will be clear of your shoulders. If you sit lower to avoid them, they will follow you until the hit something to stop them and you will be stuck in that spot.

The restraints are there from Alien Encounter. The logical reason for them is 1) to fool you into thinking this is going to be a moving thing. (it isn't) and 2) probably the most important reason is that there are parts that are in complete darkness. If at that point people decide that they want to leave there will be a lot of problems develop from stepping on others to get out to actually doing severe injuries to themselves trying to find their way in the dark. I'm sorry, but there is a small portion where they release a fake smell of chili to simulate Stitches love of Chili Dogs (chili dog breath) and if someone can't take that artificial smell that isn't that severe anyway, then I don't know what to say. Again an overreaction to a small, insignificant thing, in my opinion. When did people get so sensitive to make believe.

I'm in the minority of people who like the ride, but Stitch is my absolute favorite character so that may be the reason why. If you really can't stand the smell of the chili dog burp just breathe through your mouth until it dissipates.

It's only bad for adults that left their inner child at home. It's not the best they have ever done, but, it really doesn't deserve themouthing that it get constantly from folks that cannot see the humor in it. Check it out for yourself. In my mind if you leave your inner child at home when making a visit to WDW, you might as well stay at home with it.

I did not enjoy gross smells as a child. Most kids are also put off by the dark. I highly doubt I would have enjoyed it as a kid, and I don't anticipate liking it as an adult, so I choose to spend my time doing other things.

Disney has quite a few attractions that "aren't a ride" so not sure what bothers people about that.

Since it's so frequently referred to as a ride, I think a lot of people have gone expecting it to be a ride as opposed to a show that uses restraints to prevent people from moving around. I'm sure this has caused some disappointment.

I sat through Alien once for my brother. I did not enjoy it, so I harbor no ill will towards Stitch for it being gone. This thread reminds me of the fateful day that Stitch TP'd the castle. Kind of funny, but I feel for those who only had that one day at the MK and that was their castle family picture.

I'm going to go against the tide and say that I actually enjoy Stitch, its fun.

Actually, I have no problem with people not liking something for whatever reason that they have, but, no one should put their own personal preference onto someone else. You don't like it, fine, no problem, but, please don't go on line telling people not to go because it's terrible, unless like you did, explain why it bothers you. Then people can see that it is just a personal opinion.

I don't go to Stitch every time I visit, but, when I do I find it amusing, especially the pre-show, and am not offended by anything in it, be it the restraints, the chili burp or any of the other special effects. They are just show things, harmless and humorous. To blanket condemn something out of personal preference is wrong and unfair to people that have never actually experienced it. It causes them to skip something that they might enjoy to whatever degree that they can.

Personally, I hate the Teacups, I don't ride the spinners and will not climb the Swiss Family Tree House, I don't find anything enjoyable about any of them, but, I do realize that I am not everyone. Many do like it, I can't explain it, but they do. I think Meet & Greets are a colossal waste of time, but, thousands find them to be great things. The same applies to Stitch, some may not like it, but, it is doing a disservice to others when people get adamant about telling people not to go to it or like someone suggested "bulldozing it to the ground", because they don't like it.

I avoided it for my first two trips even though L&S is my favorite Disney movie. We finally did it in 2013, and I don't know why everyone hates it so much. Is it amazing? No. Is it awful and terrible and the worst thing ever? No.

Don't do it, don't do it, DO NOT RIDE IT! It made me smell like one of the horrid smells they used all day, and my shoulders were ACHING. It also used to be a horror ride that involved blood and a man getting eaten alive by an extraterrestrial, so there's that.

It's not a good ride... The people saying it is pointless are right. It doesn't leave you feeling much when you get off the ride. The reason alien worked is it left you terrified. The whole point of the "ride" system was to immobilize you and scare the crap out of you. I was able to use my imagination and have fun pretending my life was in danger, even though I knew it wasn't.

None of my imagination will make seeing a horrible stitch puppet breathing on me a fun experience.

But I still think you should ride it. Yea you might be swayed by our negative feelings towards it here but if you REALLY like it, that shouldn't matter. *

*if it needs to be said, this is all my opinion.

I went on it for the first time last summer, on our fifth trip to wdw. Never again! Bleach....the thought of the smell makes me gag.

We just watched Lilo & Stitch for the first time (it's so cute!), and we're doing the character meal on our upcoming trip. So I think my kids will want to ride Stitch. Does anyone like it? Is it as terrifying as Alien was? We avoided it on previous trips, but probably won't be able to this time.
Honestly, it's bad -- the humble opinion of my entire family. :) Between the icky smells and the pressing on the shoulders, we're out!

If that stuff wouldn't bug you, at least it's some A/C if you're going during a sweltering time...

No one in our group was traumatized, or anything, though. Not like CoP... :duck: ;)

To each their own. To me, it is that bad. If you enjoy it, good for you.
Well, that really was my point. I don't think everyone will like it anymore then everyone will love every other attraction that is there, but, what scares me is all this super negative talk from a few that can influence the opinions of others (not everyone is a leader, most are followers) and I don't know if you have noticed over the past few years but Disney has done nothing but close attractions without adding much new. There is plenty of room for other attractions to be built and that is what the energy should be directed toward, not getting rid of something that is already there just because an individual doesn't find it to be good. They don't need anymore encouragement to shut more things down. It's getting hard enough as it is to find enough to do that doesn't have incredibly long lines.

So I'm quite obviously not the only person on this thread that didn't like the attraction. Why is it that you seem to be singling me out? The OP asks for opinions, I gave mine. I hated the ride. End of discussion. Please leave me alone.
