Is Splash Mountain Splashier These Days?

THere's wet and then there's absolutely soaked to the bone! We got wetter on Splash that trip than I EVER have on Grizzly River run or Kali River Rapids, rides where I expect more water. The fact that the boat had at least 6 inches of water pooled in the bottom is a problem, not what should be the norm for a water ride!

I agree with this comment. There is splashes of water, and then there is the equivalent of having a 5 gallon bucket of water dumped on your head, which isn't very fun if you have hours left in the park.

True story - I had to leave my family in the park to fly back East for a business trip. We did a few rides in the morning before I had to leave, including Splash. I then did the drive to LAX, flew on a plane to the other side of the country, got a ride to the hotel, and was still wet from my ride on Splash eight hours earlier. So, here I was, sitting in a city on the East coast, in the middle of the night, alone and away from my family, wet from Splash Mountain in Disneyland. It was like the opening scene in Emperor's New Groove - if you had zoomed in on me then, I would have said, "you are probably wondering how I ended up here." That was the last time I rode without a poncho.

Last time I used a poncho the water pooled inside of it forming like a hammock full of water! I didn't want to dump it into the boat so I held it until we were disembarking! 🤣

YES!! Exact same spot here, except it was the last ride of the last night and we had a relatively short walk to Grand Californian. I literally left a "drip trail" down Main Street LOL. I also remember the ride being slower so you could enjoy the audio animatronics more .... this time we FLEW through the interior show. On the positive side, there was zero backup for the final big drop vs. when the ride ran slower, I remember sitting there for several minutes while logs ahead of us went up. The two evil buzzards at that drop also seemed funnier than before... maybe 2018 refresh as well?
We rode big thunder shortly after and my son said the person boarding after us wasn’t thrilled because he left a big puddle on the seat. Lol. Oops!

We rode Splash at WDW in December 2020 a ton of times because there was no line. I was worried we would get drenched the first time. We hardly got wet at all. Lol. That’s why we rode so many times. Totally different experience than at Disneyland.
