Is something happening with Google Chrome lately?

Lately when I have been doing internet I noticed that Google Chrome is acting strange and I would like to know what the reason is? It seems that anytime you do something on the internet Google Chrome starts flashing green and when I exit Google Chrome it asks me if I want to continue downloading but the strange thing is there is nothing downloading. I do know when Google Chrome is updating itself it will flash orange and so I'm wondering what the green color means on Google Chrome? I seem to think that Google is planning to update itself without people without noticing. And another thing when Google Chrome flashes green everything gets really slow
Has anyone noticed this with Google Chrome?

I wouldn't let Chrome download anything, especially if it's acting funny trying to do it. You may have accidentally opened a malicious web page and it's now trying to download through Chrome. If it's a legitimate Chrome update, you can always go to the Chrome website and download it.
